Let’s be honest: is there currently an SSD with 2 TB of storage available for under 50 Euros? If it were up to certain eBay “top sellers,” it probably would. This contradicts the search results in reputable stores, but maybe the little technology miracle is taking place just outside of the usual big online shops. For example, if you own a Playstation 4 and would like to have more hard drive space, you will still be happy to go for a SATA3 SSD. And all those whose ITX board only offers a few NVMe slots for sure, too.
And then there are all the upgraders and retrofitters at the start, who can definitely still do something with this form factor. So let’s go in search of the super bargains. Incidentally, malice towards supposedly easy “victims” is completely out of place here, because it can affect anyone who is not 100% in the matter. Even though the 50 Euros may sound unbelievable, the sellers of such offers are supposedly listed among the so-called top sellers on eBay, which creates trust due to the alleged number of units and high buyer ratings. Maybe the conventional online stores just don’t treat us to anything and there really is something to the great snapper?
I want to preface this by saying that I have been avoiding eBay for a long time because the multitude of offers (a) are only commercial and (b) are often overpriced and of rather poor quality. If you’re going to buy Ali Express products, then please buy the original and not via a platform whose best days are already decades in the past and which has now degenerated into the red-light district of online retailing. Frankfurt station district in digital and glue rod for the uninitiated. Let’s just look for a 2 TB SSD and be amazed…
