Bethesda has announced the first major update for Starfield. The update includes a number of new features and improvements that players have been asking for. One highlight is the support for DLSS. Another important feature is the FOV slider, which allows players to customize the angle of view in the game. This is especially important for players with ultrawide monitors.
Bethesda has announced that the first major update for Starfield is coming soon. In addition to a number of new features and improvements, such as an FOV slider and support for 32:9 ultrawide monitors, DLSS will also be implemented for the PC. DLSS is an upscaling technology from Nvidia that increases performance while improving image quality. For gamers with lower-powered graphics cards, DLSS is a welcome way to improve Starfield’s graphics quality without sacrificing performance. So far, however, it is not clear which version of DLSS will be included in Starfield. DLSS 3.0 offers the best image quality results, but is only available for RTX-4000 graphics cards. DLSS 2.0 is not quite as good, but can be used with older Nvidia GPUs.
Bethesda has not commented on this issue yet. It is therefore possible that the update only includes DLSS 3.0 and thus excludes players with older Nvidia GPUs. In this case, these players would have to continue using AMD’s FSR 2.0, which is already included in the game. Many gamers have been calling for DLSS for Starfield for a long time. The game has demanding system requirements, making it difficult to play with a weak graphics card. DLSS would allow gamers to enjoy Starfield even with older hardware configurations. One can hope that Bethesda decides to include DLSS 2.0 in the update. This would allow all players who own an Nvidia graphics card to benefit from DLSS.
Unfortunately, it is not yet known when the update will launch.
