AMD’s Anti-Lag technology is AMD’s answer to NVIDIA’s Reflex. Both technologies aim to reduce input lag and improve system latency. These features are especially important when playing games with frame generation technologies such as AMD FSR 3 and NVIDIA DLSS 3. AMD’s solution offers easy activation in supported games as well as via drivers with a simple toggle switch as part of AMD’s HYPR-RX suite. In tests, Anti-Lag has proven to be excellent in combination with the launch of FSR 3 titles such as Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum.
However, AMD quickly withdrew this driver switch as it resulted in players being banned from various online games such as Call of Duty: Warzone, Counter-Strike 2, Overwatch 2, etc. The main problem was that switching anti-lag via the driver for a particular game led to the modification of game files, which was recognized as “cheating” by the cross-game anti-cheat technology. The far-reaching bans led to several developers and publishers asking players to avoid Anti-Lag in their games.

AMD removed the anti-lag driver from their website and later released a new driver that withdrew support for anti-lag. This meant that the promised Anti-Lag was no longer available on the driver page, and almost 4 months have passed since we saw the technology in action. However, AMD now confirms that Anti-Lag will return and will be in a much improved state than before.
Any news on reintroducing Anti-Lag+? It’s been a while since it was removed. Or any info whether the FSR upscaler will be improved now that Frame Gen has been released?
Any info would be great

AMD Anti-Lag support is still available in games that support this feature. AMD has worked closely with developers to include anti-lag support and no driver-side switching is required to enable it. Currently, the list of games that offer Anti-Lag support includes the following titles:
- Apex Legends
- Overwatch 2
- Dying Light 2
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider
- Rise of the Tomb Raider
- Resident Evil 4
- Ghostwire: Tokyo
- Fortnite
- Last of Us: Part 1
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
- Resident Evil 3
- Borderlands 3
It could be that the list looks smaller than before, as all online games have been removed due to player bans. They may be added back once AMD releases a newer version that works better with online titles. The technology is still supported by the newer RDNA 3 GPUs (Radeon RX 7000), while the rest of the GPUs support the standard anti-lag technology. In addition, AMD has also confirmed some new and upcoming FSR 3 titles.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
- Farming Simulator 22
- House Flipper 2
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
- Mortal Online 2
- MotorCubs RC
- Nightingale
- REMNANT II
- Starfield (beta update)
- Starship Troopers: Extermination
- The Thaumaturge
- The Talos Principle 2
Further details from AMD on the activation of Anti-Lag can be expected in the coming weeks.
