Overclocked GeForce RTX 4090 laptop GPU outperforms desktop RTX 3090 Ti

The latest Intel 13th Gen HX CPU and NVIDIA's RTX 4090 are installed as components in the Razer Blade 18. Currently, this is the best gaming hardware you can get in a laptop, but that also comes at a high price. Needless to say, where the form factor limits performance, there will always be people who want to buy the best and most efficient parts they can get, no matter what it costs.

Reddit user Kelzs was one of those enthusiasts who chose the $4,500 Razer Blade 18 with RTX 4090, which is literally the best and most expensive Razer notebook out there, but since it's an HX notebook, users can customize the performance if they want to. Razer Synapse software allows users to change performance profiles, while MSI Afterburner unlocks overclocking even for laptop GPUs. In combination with the underclocking via Intel XTU and the disabled integrated GPU in the BIOS, the dedicated GPU offers enough leeway to achieve the highest possible performance.

With this configuration and settings, the RTX 4090 laptop GPU with NVIDIA's AD103 GPU outperformed the RTX 3090 Ti desktop GPU, the flagship of the last generation desktop series, by 2.7%. This was confirmed by a screenshot from 3DMark TimeSpy with a score of 22339 graphics points. That's also 72% faster than last generation's flagship RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU. However, even with overclocking, this value is much lower than that of the desktop RTX 4090, which is 61% faster.

Die neueste Intel 13th Gen HX-CPU und NVIDIAs RTX 4090 sind als Komponenten im Razer Blade 18 verbaut. Derzeit ist dies die beste Gaming-Hardware, die man in einem Laptop bekommen kann, aber das hat auch einen hohen Preis. Unnötig zu sagen, dass es dort, wo der Formfaktor die Leistung einschränkt, immer Leute geben wird, die (den ganzen Artikel lesen...)
