MSI expands SPATIUM product line with new consumer SSDs

MSI announces the launch of its own Solid State Drive (SSD) product line, SPATIUM. The initial product offering will include the M480, M470 and M370. Supporting PCIe Gen4 and Gen3, depending on the model, all NVMe SSDs feature the compact M.2 2280 form factor to fit desktop motherboards and laptops.

On these SSDs, MSI says it’s putting high-quality, high-density 3D NAND flash modules that should offer the best compromise of performance and endurance for professionals, content creators and gamers. Performance-enhancing technologies include a DRAM cache buffer for the M480 and M470 and an SLC cache for all announced models.

SPATIUM M480

The SPATIUM M480 is designed to deliver next-generation storage performance to demanding content creators and gamers. Compliance with PCIe Gen 4 and NVMe 1.4 standards enables extreme transfer speeds of up to 7000 MB/s sequential read and 6800 MB/s sequential write. The M480 is produced in three storage capacities – 500GB, 1TB and 2TB. These SSDs are the fastest in the entire SPATIUM lineup.

SPATIUM M470

The SPATIUM M470 is designed to meet the expectations of mainstream SSD consumers. With speeds of up to 5000 MB/s sequential read and 4400 MB/s sequential write, users running the latest generation of PCs can take advantage of the capabilities of the PCIe Gen4 interface. Available storage capacities are 1TB and 2TB.

SPATIUM M370

The SPATIUM M370 mist MSI’s entry-level offering with its PCIe Gen3 interface, but still offers the essential benefits of fast file transfers and short load times. Storage capacities of 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB are available, offering speeds of up to 2400MB/s sequential read and 1850MB/s sequential write.

All announced SPATIUM SSD products support a comprehensive set of data error correction features, including LPDC ECC and E2E Data Protection, and offer high TBW (Terabytes Written) for superior durability and longevity. A limited 5-year warranty has also been announced by MSI. When exactly these SSDs will appear in German retail stores has not yet been communicated.
