The next generation of Intel Panther Lake-H CPUs for high-end laptops is ready and promises a significant leap in graphics and AI performance, reports miktdt on X. With up to 12 Xe cores based on the new Celestial “Xe3-LPG” architecture, these CPUs offer 50% more graphics performance compared to the current Meteor Lake chips and the upcoming Arrow Lake CPUs.

First details about the Panther Lake-H CPUs:
- Target group: High-end laptops (“H” SKU)
- Graphics: 12 Xe cores based on the Arc Celestial “Xe3-LPG” architecture
- Performance increase: 50% more graphics performance compared to Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake
- Memory: Expected use of LPDDR6 and LPDDR5X for higher bandwidth
- Market launch: Mid-2025
- CPU architecture: Cougar Cove P-Cores and Skymont E-Cores for improved performance and efficiency
- AI performance: Doubled AI TOPs compared to Lunar Lake CPUs
- Manufacturing process: Intel 3 for the SOC tile, TSMC N3 or N3 for the iGPU tile

Celestial “Xe3-LPG” architecture: A big step forward
The new Celestial “Xe3-LPG” architecture from Intel marks a significant step forward compared to the current Alchemist and Battlemage GPUs. The 50% increase in cores promises significantly faster integrated graphics performance (iGPU). In addition, new memory types such as LPDDR6 and LPDDR5X are expected to be used to further increase bandwidth and overall performance.
Further improvements:
In addition to the significantly increased graphics performance, Panther Lake-H also offers a range of other improvements:
- AI acceleration: The new NPU (Neural Processing Unit) offers double the AI performance (AI TOPs) compared to Lunar Lake CPUs, which already have over 100 platform AI TOPs themselves. This makes Panther Lake-H ideal for AI-intensive applications such as machine learning and deep learning.
- Advanced process nodes: Intel uses its own Intel 3 process node for the SOC (system-on-a-chip) tile, while the iGPU tile is expected to be manufactured with an external node from TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company), most likely N3 or N3. This enables optimized performance and efficiency for the respective tasks.
The Intel Panther Lake-H CPUs promise a huge leap in performance for high-end laptops. The combination of 50% more graphics performance, doubled AI performance and other improvements make these CPUs an attractive option for gamers, creatives and professional users who require the highest performance and efficiency. The market launch is planned for mid-2025.
However, it is important to note that this information is based on leaks and is subject to change until the official announcement from Intel.
- The IDs for the Panther Lake CPUs were recently spotted in CoreBoot, indicating GT3 and GT3 tier graphics chips.
- Intel has confirmed that Panther Lake CPUs are already in the factories and are expected to hit the market in mid-2025.
- Panther Lake CPUs are expected to use the Cougar Cove P-Core architecture and the Skymont E-Core architecture.
