Intel lowers the price of the A750 GPU to $249 in the US, which is $30 less than at launch. The reduced price is supposed to apply worldwide, but Intel does not share prices for other regions.
So Intel has announced the improvements to its new "4086" driver (although the latest driver is 4091). It is said to deliver 10% to 77% more performance with the Arc A750 GPU. Compared to the launch drivers from a few months ago, the new driver also improves frame times significantly. The FPS percentile has also improved:
Intel claims that the Arc A750 will now offer 52% more performance per dollar compared to NVIDIA RTX 3060 GPU. Of course, these are figures given by Intel, which still have to be verified by independent media. The RTX 3060 now costs around $391, which is much more than Arc A750.
Intel '4086' driver (Arc A750):
- 1080p Avg FPS: Up to 77% improvement
- 1080p 99th Percentile Normalized: Up to 114% improvement
- 1440p Avg FPS: Up to 87% improvement
- 1440p 99th Percentile Normalized: Up to 123% improvement
- Aggregate DX9 FPS improvement: 43%
- Aggregate DX9 99th Percentile improvement: 60%
There is an MSRP for most Intel Arc GPUs, which means the $249 price should translate easily to retail. This price definitely puts pressure on NVIDIA to focus on the mid-range segment, which unfortunately was not the case for a long time. Along with the announcement of the new price, a new game bundle was also announced: select Arc A-series GPUs are now being sold with free copies of The Settlers: New Allies and Nightingale.
