Hardware leaker All_The_Watts!! has published alleged benchmark results of AMD’s upcoming performance mainstream RDNA 3-based graphics cards Radeon RX 7700 and Radeon RX 7800 in 3DMark Time Spy. The performance numbers should be taken with a grain of salt, but for what it’s worth, both products show comparable performance compared to their supposed rivals.
Model | 3DMark Time Spy Average ~ Maximum |
Radeon RX 7700* | 15465 |
Radeon RX 7800* | 18197 |
Radeon RX 6800 XT | 17098 ~ 24934 |
Radeon RX 6800 | 14503 ~ 20239 |
Radeon RX 6700 XT | 11970 ~ 15087 |
GeForce RTX 4070 Ti | 20437 ~ 25898 |
GeForce RTX 4070 | 16372 ~ 21065 |
GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB | 12836 ~ 15000 |
According to the specs, AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 7700 scores 15,465 points in 3DMark Time Spy, putting it ahead of Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, which averages 12,836 points (even up to 15,000 points on high-end machines), and AMD’s own Radeon RX 6700 XT, which averages 11,970 points (up to 15,087 points on a high-end PC). On an unknown test system, AMD’s aforementioned Radeon RX 7800 achieves 18,197 points. Assuming it’s a high-end machine, this graphics card can’t even surpass the Radeon RX 6800, which achieves an average of 14,503 points (but 20,239 points on a high-end system).
According to the latest rumors, AMD is expected to use the Navi 32 GPU with up to 3840 stream processors (60 processing units) in both Radeon RX 7700 and Radeon RX 7800 series products. However, exact specifications of these products are not yet known, as they will not be launched until the end of August and may still change. Although we are talking about performance data obtained with pre-production samples of AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 and Radeon RX 7800 graphics cards, we do not know the configuration of the test environments and we cannot judge how well the current AMD drivers are optimized for these graphics cards. However, it is plausible to assume that the final versions of AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 and Radeon RX 7800 will be faster than the current test models. To see if they deserve a spot on our list of best graphics cards, we’ll have to wait for our own tests of AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards.
