AMD’s B550 at the maximum: Gigabyte B550 Vision D review – a bit special, but also pleasantly different

After all, everything that occurs as loss is ultimately thermal energy that has to be dissipated somehow. All in all, the board cuts a very good figure here, also thanks to the very functional components, and there are absolutely no malicious hotspots. On the contrary, because the heatsinks work similar to the solution on the Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master. The thermal saturation occurs at 95 watts package power e.g. only after 29 minutes, despite deliberately omitting air cooling (Airflow).

I also made control measurements with sensors on the top of the board under the heat sinks. The values directly determined here are on average only up to 2 degrees above the highest value of the back side, which isn’t surprising, as the waste heat also goes mostly in the direction of the board in the power stages. At 95 watts, everything is in the deep green range, because you can’t do much better with even more converter circuits or phases.

Not much changes at 115 watts package power, everything remains at a maximum of 53°C at the most pleasant temperatures. This is well solved and is directly fun on more.

If everything stays cool, you can add a few more watts! 135 watts is of course higher, it’s now 64 °C. Under the cooler I reach 65 to 68 °C at the peak.

It continues the very good picture that I already had at the power consumption. The bottom line is that these are not yet absolute top values, but they are solid and reason enough to be able to explicitly praise them.
