The image quality in direct comparison
For the image quality comparison, I did a static image comparison first, right after the benchmark runs. So you can have a look at the three pictures below and, in order to make the differences clear, I have made a detail cutout of each by the 280-fold.
Let's start with native 1440p resolution, then comes DLSS quality and finally NIS 77%.
And here are the detail sections in the same order!
The blider says more than a thousand words.
Here is another "dynamic" comparison, for this I recorded a video at one point for a few seconds per setting. The settings were: Max Settings, DXR Ultra in 1440p native vs. DLSS Performance + 50% Sharpening vs. NIS 77% + 80% Sharpening. These three videos are right next to each other in order for better comparison: 1440p native on the left, DLSS performance in the middle, and NIS 77% on the right
The differences are clearly visible, both in the foreground at the railing and in the depth. DLSS Perfomance even manages to get more out of the image than the native resolution of the game. That's pretty impressive and leaves me with excitement to see what else is in store. DLSS is clearly superior here! On the other hand, you have to say that if you don't have the money to afford a new graphics card right now, then you can live with what NIS can do in a pinch. I haven't noticed any annoying flickering or shimmering now even while testing. Sure, to do that you have to run a few more yards and see how that develops over the course of the game. Better than a slide show it will be for sure. Let's see what else the next article on this will bring. That should be it for today. Last page please!
