In today’s end-of-year workvlog, I’ll show you another very special build. Because even if the Lian Li o11 is now more of a mouthful than the tongue after a stair sprint to the 12th floor, it’s still not enough. Floor – with a little effort during installation, even a mass product becomes a real eye-catcher again. This build was a bit of a long story from planning to implementation, but it was really worth it in the end. Those who know my builds also know that either games or hardware have to serve as inspiration. Or best of all, both. This time the Colorful Z690 Frozen gave me the right idea, and the rest came on its own.
Admittedly, the Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO is really a hackneyed drop and all the builds look kind of the same. But in the end, that was even a real challenge, to stand out from the crowd. Creativity was therefore the top priority here, in order to dignifiedly sink the standard mash down the drain. I would like to claim in advance that I succeeded quite well (self-praise stinks, so please open the window).
Let’s get started: Striptease
First open the screws and carefully remove the side window.
We do the same again for the lid, it was fun.
Then a hearty jerk on the windshield….. Gone.
And last but not least, the back wall. For an unrestricted view with foresight, the good piece has to give way first.
Next, the HDD cage must be removed. Clamped? Nope…
For one thing, I won’t be using HDD’s or SSD’s in this build and for another, I need that space. You will see why.
Finally, the side fan/radiator bracket must be removed. This is also no longer needed.
So, now everything is freely accessible for the time being. Emptying is easy, but now it’s time to fill. And that’s when I came up with something…. Search and Find.
