The unexpected often happens. And perhaps an Asian graphics card manufacturer is returning to the German market, which has scored highly in the past with interesting graphics card conversions. In addition to all the gaming products, where this manufacturer has made quite a splash in Asia in recent years with its exuberant coolers and add-ons, it also offers other solutions that could be of great interest to some customers outside of the usual gaming PCs. And so it was here too, because normally neutral, brown boxes are more for adults, you know…
Ok, curiosity dies last, as we all know, so I took a cautious look inside. And hello: What’s only two slots wide, black and has a really old-school design from the last decade that has survived in the workstation sector for good reason? That’s right! It’s a graphics card…
The radial fan is of course already a member of the “compressed air for all” working group and also looks like a long-time activist of swirling air movement. The idea of disposing of the warm exhaust air directly from the housing has always had its charm. You will read in the test how audible this becomes, because the card is of course both benchmarked and measured and then, as always, finally butchered,
The 12-volt plunger goes in the back and it is finally a normal and well thought-out connection design again. You can also see from the picture that the circuit board has the full installation length and is not just a copy of the extremely short reference design. In any case, I’m already really excited.
Ok, at the very end there is also a short teaser with a GPU-Z screenshot, so that you can at least recognize the installed chip. More soon, when I’m done with the card. I can already spoil the fact that the chip doesn’t get hotter than 61 °C in the Torture test and even the hotspot doesn’t exceed 75 °C. Incidentally, a cooling backplate is not even available for an extra charge.
I actually see two target groups for the card: workstation users who prefer to use a cool PC and water cooling enthusiasts who finally have a card with a connector at the end of the board. From this point of view, the offer is not entirely nonsensical. If a courageous distributor can be found to bring this lost child back to the German market, everyone will surely be helped. So let’s wait and see. In any case, I already have it.
