Pixel response times
I’ll put it all on one page today. Basically, you have the choice between Overdrive off, Normal (default), or Advanced. I’m not convinced by this VA panel. There is a difference between Overdrive off and Advanced: Off = Ghosting and Advanced = Inverse Ghosting (Overshoot). The Overdrive Normal is visually the lesser evil. VA panels are simply too slow. Yes, I know – Samsung (G7 240 Hz) still has a say in this, but not here and now.
Overdrive off
Overdrive Normal
Overdrive Advanced
Interim conclusion: The panel could not have been made any faster than 100 Hz. The pixel response times simply don’t allow it. Please understand me correctly. I’m naturally spoiled by OLED and fast TN or fast IPS panels. In the end, I prefer the GA271 with its 100 Hz – to the 75 Hz Samsung LF24T352, for example. Simply because the 100 Hz feels better – even with office applications. For occasional gaming, you can do that with the VA panel. And on the next page you can also see why the GA271 would be my low-budget choice.
