Leak: AMD Ryzen 9 as a 16-coreer? First possible clock rates and a summary of the line-up

TUM_APISAK, a respected leaker in the hardware scene who often doesn't specify sources but has never been seriously dad, has the purported specifications for AMD's upcoming Ryzen 3000 series 16-core processor, which is based on the Zen 2 processor microarchitecture and the 7nm process node based, tweeted. The chip, an engineering sample (ES), is intended to use 3.3 GHz base clock and 4.2 GHz boost clock.

AMD has only officially unveiled an awe-core model of the Ryzen 3000, so the big takeaway can now be seen as confirmation that AMD will actually offer a 16-core with 32-threads, as AMD's president and CEO Dr. Lisa Su suggested, and as it did, in the much-discussed AdoredTV video.

Tom's Hardware CES

This TUM_APISAK, did not disclose the code name of the processor in question, but at least confirmed that it does not correspond to the existing nomenclature and therefore cannot be compared to Marvin's famous AMD code name decoder, which we see here:

In the following table, we listed the information from the AdoredTV leak that is supposed to be the upcoming SKUs of AMD's Ryzen 3000 series. If the rumor is true, the unidentified chip of the Ryzen 3000 series should be named Ryzen 9. The emergence of a 16-core Ryzen model seems to underpin this, but the specifications have not yet been officially confirmed, so the table is purely speculative:

Model Cores / Threads Gpu Base / Boost Clock Tdp MSRP
Ryzen 3 3300 6 / 12 3.2 / 4.0 GHz 50w $99
Ryzen 3 3300X 6 / 12 3.5 / 4.3 GHz 65w $129
Ryzen 3 3300G 6 / 12 Navi (15 CU) 3.0 / 3.8 GHz 65w $129
Ryzen 5 3600 8 / 16 3.6 / 4.4 GHz 65w $178
Ryzen 5 3600X 8 / 16 4.0 / 4.8 GHz 95w $229
Ryzen 5 3600G 8 / 16 Navi (20 CU) 3.2 / 4.0 GHz 95w $199
Ryzen 7 3700 12 / 24 3.8 / 4.6 GHz 95w $299
Ryzen 7 3700X 12 / 24 4.2 / 5.0 GHz 105w $329
Ryzen 9 3800X 16 / 32 3.9 / 4.7 GHz 125W $449
Ryzen 9 3850X 16 / 32 4.3 / 5.1 GHz 135W $499

According to TUM_APISAK information, the "Ryzen 9 3850X" is the largest SKU with 16 cores, 32 threads with a base clock of 3.3 GHz and a whopping 4.2 GHz boost clock. There are assumptions and indications that the boost clock could also scale up to 4.5 GHz, but without specifying how many cores. The chip in question is, as already written, a pure ES, albeit a very advanced one. This at least suggests that the takrates could already be very similar to the final product.

TUM_APISAK also left a note that he could soon leak a screenshot of the processor. We will, of course, continue to pursue this, because it is certainly interesting.
