The Fractal Design Torrent RGB is designed with one goal in mind: maximum airflow, without compromise. A quite desirable approach to put the function above the design aspects again and thus more than qualified for a test!
Technical data and features
Without prose, it’s straight to the facts. Fractal Design packs a lot of practical features into a relatively compact case with the Torrent RGB. Designed for maximum airflow, the case comes in all variations with five high-quality PWM fans – in the RGB version even illuminated. A fan hub is also on board as standard, allowing a whopping 9 fans to be controlled via a PWM connection on the motherboard.
The side panels and the lid can be removed within seconds without the use of tools, allowing quick access to the integrated dust filters, for example.
Two gigantic 180mm fans wink through the open front in lamellar design, moving plenty of air even at low speeds. With the included radiator brackets, the front can also be easily converted to conventional sizes. Both in the flexible front, as well as in the completely open bottom, large radiators with up to 420mm length can be accommodated.
Plenty of space and countless tie-down points behind the motherboard tray allow for easy and clean cable management.
The front panel provides a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port in addition to the usual USB 3.0 ports.
Finally, of course, the complete technical data:
Scope of delivery
Besides the case itself, there is also a GPU support, radiator/fan brackets for mounting radiators/ fans in the conventional sizes, a pack of mounting hardware and of course a detailed user guide in the package.
Thanks to the many pre-installed velcro straps of the great cable management system, you can easily manage even with the few cable ties that are included in the package in addition to the screws and a small cleaning cloth.
