Easter is a time of reflection in which we remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a central event in the Christian faith. His sacrifice and resurrection symbolize the overcoming of death and the promise of eternal life. This message of hope and comfort is still relevant today, whether we are believers or not. In this time of renewal, we should be aware that life consists of ups and downs, of light and shadow. Just as nature blossoms and shines anew in spring, we too can renew and grow. We can learn from our mistakes, strengthen our character, and focus on fostering the good in ourselves and others.
Let’s use Easter together to pause for a while and reflect on the essentials. Let’s be thankful for the life we have, for the dear people around us, and for the opportunities that come our way. Let us also remember those who are less fortunate than we are, who are living in difficult times or who have lost someone close to them. Even if you think you’re doing badly, there’s always someone else who’s doing much worse. A lot of it is really complaining at a high level.
It is the liberating aspect of Good Friday and Easter that one’s thoughts are drawn far beyond one’s personal destiny to the ultimate meaning of all life, suffering and events in general, and that one grasps a great hope. (Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Resistance and Surrender)
May the Easter season inspire us to meet one another honestly with love, compassion and understanding. Let’s work on building bridges between people and accepting our differences, because in the end we are all part of this wonderful, diverse world. In this spirit, I wish you all a blessed, happy and contemplative Easter. May the joy and hope of the Resurrection live on in your hearts and give you strength and confidence, today and in the days to come.
