The company ASUS has rolled out its new BIOS firmware AMD AGESA 1.1.8.0 BIOS firmware for its X670E motherboards. Significant changes due to this update are not apparent for the time being.
However, one can assume that this is probably a BIOS firmware update that prepares for the upcoming Zen 5 architecture from AMD. This makes ASUS one of the other motherboard manufacturers that have already prepared various updates for this new architecture so that users can get started with AMD’s new Zen 5 architecture straight away.
AMD Zen 5 is supposed to be the successor to its Zen 4 architecture and offer significant performance improvements. There are currently no official details from AMD. However, it can be assumed that these chips will fit into the AM5 socket of motherboards and that if you still have an AM4 socket, you will have to replace your motherboard in order to enjoy the new Zen 5 processors. No further information is known, but fans and observers will not have to wait long before new information is rolled out. AMD will be presenting details of its architecture at this year’s Computex.
Computex is a major tech trade fair that runs from June 4 – June 7, 2024 and will take place in Taipei. Major tech companies such as NVIDIA, ASUS, Intel and AMD will be represented at this trade fair. We can definitely expect some interesting innovations and projects to be presented at this trade fair and to drive the future forward. In any case, we are excited to see what AMD will present with its Zen 5 and how it will establish itself. The future is wide open.
