Sapphire continues its journey with the B550I, building on its success and now presents its successor, the new Sapphire NITRO B650I WIFI Ultra Platinum motherboard. Long name, long journey.
Sapphire has remained true to itself and sticks with the same motherboard format as the B550I and thus comes in a Mini-ITX form factor. An AM5 socket is installed here and for this reason only AMD Ryzen users can enjoy the new taste of this motherboard. Let’s move on to the other technical details. The new Sapphire NITRO B650I WIFI Ultra Platinum motherboard is powered by an 8 2-phase voltage converter. This provides 70A and the whole thing is controlled by an Infineon XDPE 192C3B.
The motherboard from Sapphire supports the Ryzen 7000 CPUs and Ryzen 8000G APUs from AMD. The board has two RAM slots and supports DDR5 6000 (OC) RAM, which can be up to 64. It comes with just one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot and even has 4 SATA ports. Of course, an SSD slot is also included. The power supply runs via an 8-pin connection and the normal 24-pin ATX connection.
What interfaces can you expect? Sapphire states that the NITRO B650I WIFI Ultra Platinum motherboard contains 1x HDMI, 1x DP, two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports (10 Gbit/s), a single USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port (20 Gbit/s), a Clear CMOS switch, an RJ45 LAN port, two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports (5 Gbit/s), a WIFI 6 antenna and a 7.1-channel audio jack.
The new motherboard is currently only listed for China and for a price of 1679 RMB, which is the equivalent of around 220 euros. We’re excited to see how the new board performs and you can definitely expect it to receive some BIOS updates as AMD’s Zen 5 slowly gets rolling.
