AMD’s Zen 4 processors are powerful and can easily compete with the leading CPUs on the market. Nevertheless, AMD has not given up on Zen 3 development. According to VideoCardz, Gigabyte has listed a previously unannounced Zen 3 chip from the Ryzen 5000G (Cezanne) era. The Ryzen 7 5700 is an octa-core processor with 16 threads, a configuration we already know from the Ryzen 7 5700X (Vermeer) and Ryzen 7 5700G (Cezanne). However, according to Gigabyte’s CPU support list, the Ryzen 7 5700 is more related to the latter, which means that it is essentially a Ryzen 7 5700G without integrated graphics.
The Ryzen 7 5700 has a base clock of 3.7 GHz and a boost clock of 4.6 GHz. The chip’s base clock is 100 MHz lower than that of the Ryzen 7 5700G. It has the same L2 cache of 4 MB and L3 cache of 16 MB as the Ryzen 7 5700G. Similar to the Ryzen 7 5700G, the Non-G variant also has a TDP of 65W. This makes the Non-G processor faster than the Ryzen 7 5700GE, although the latter consumes 35W less power than the Ryzen 7 5700G.
The Ryzen 7 5700 plugs into the AM4 socket without the need for new motherboard firmware. Interestingly, it shares the same firmware as the Ryzen 7 5700G and Ryzen 7 5700GE, although AMD never officially announced the Ryzen 7 5700. It is unclear when Gigabyte added the Ryzen 7 5700 to its list, as other motherboard manufacturers do not list it. It appears that the Ryzen 7 5700 is not a retail product. Based on the specifications, it is believed to be exclusively for OEMs to use in their pre-configured systems.
On the Internet, we found a few PCs using the Ryzen 7 5700, such as one from an Argentinian retailer. As AMD expands its product portfolio with new Zen 4 chips, it is likely that the chipmaker is looking to clear out the remaining stock of Zen 3 silicon. So it stands to reason that another Ryzen chip will be launched, even without an integrated GPU.
