As Mark Gurman from Bloomberg announced, there are talks between Apple and Google to bring Google’s AI model Gemini to IOS devices.

An anonymous person states that licensing talks are underway between Google and Apple regarding the Gemini AI engine, which is due to appear on IOS 18. It will support new functions for the iPhone in the course of the year. There have already been talks between OpenAI and Apple recently, which clearly shows that the company is very interested in artificial intelligence. However, it also proves that Apple is not as advanced in this field as some people think. Although the company is working on its own AI under the code name Ajax, it is lagging far behind other AIs.

Of course, there are advantages and disadvantages to such a partnership. One advantage is that Google is paying Apple billions of dollars to bring its own search engine to Apple devices as a standard option. This could lead to a change. Above all, millions of users will then also have the opportunity to use Gemini directly.

However, the disadvantage of a possible partnership is that the authorities, including the EU authorities, could keep an eye on it. A lawsuit has already been filed by the US Department of Justice alleging that both companies are acting as a single entity and want to claim the search engine market for themselves. However, these allegations are rejected. Apple is convinced that Google’s search quality is superior to the competition and that it is easy to switch providers on the iPhone.

It is not yet known whether there will be a possible partnership. It is also not known whether this will be a function exclusive to IOS devices. However, we can look forward to what the next few days will bring. Apple CEO Tim Cook has already announced in advance that he intends to make a major announcement about AI.
