Windows 11 will soon introduce an integrated RGB lighting control called “Dynamic Lighting,” designed specifically for gaming PCs. Microsoft aims to provide a one-stop shop for all RGB needs, eliminating the need to install different software for each component. Microsoft aims to simplify the management of RGB in PCs with the new Dynamic Lighting feature in Windows 11. This feature was officially announced by Microsoft in the Windows Developer Blog post. Although no official information is available yet, already published photos from Twitter user Albacore give us a good impression of the general look of this feature.
In the Windows 11 user interface, you will find options to adjust the screen brightness, lighting effects and color scheme. In addition, there is a handy feature that allows you to match the color of your hardware to the accent color of Windows. Many new users who want a perfectly synchronized setup find the RGB lighting customization cumbersome. They have to deal with different software modules because each company uses its own RGB control software. To solve these problems, Microsoft is aiming for a user-friendly solution that does not require the use of third-party applications.
Lighted accessories have been on the rise and can add energy and emotion to your PC experience. Today, many of these accessories rely on third-party apps and integrations that are highly fragmented. With Dynamic Lighting, Windows users will be able to effortlessly set up and customize their devices with RGB lights directly from Windows Settings. It has never been easier to help all your RGB accessories work seamlessly together for Windows apps. This month, we are making the Dynamic Lighting preview available to Windows Insiders so that developers and hardware partners alike can experiment with new integrations for RGB accessories and components.

In a post on the Windows Developer site, Microsoft admits that lit accessories are becoming increasingly popular and can add energy and emotion to the PC experience. However, the company also stresses that many of these accessories rely on third-party apps and integrations, which are currently fragmented. Although you can access this feature in newer builds of Windows 11, we don’t recommend it at the moment. Under the name “Ambient Lightning” in the current build version, it does not work as intended. We hope it will run smoothly with the official version, but there is no absolute certainty with Microsoft. We can hope that this feature is not a mere “gimmick”, as is the case with many other RGB programs. Microsoft has not yet officially announced lighting support for Windows 11. However, the company is working on several experimental features that are expected to appear in a major update for Windows 11 later this year.
