Cheap, but not cheap: KFA2 / Galax GeForce GTX 1070 Ti EX in review

Summary

This budding price/performance breaker offers an enormous performance for money and despite the favorable price positioning operates without significant weaknesses or even mistakes. The card corresponds in the structure and on the board to the in-house GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, whose cooler also copes surprisingly well with the higher power consumption and thus also – delivery. Even in the closed housing, which should also be the horizontally aligned cooling fins.

This card can also score if you are looking for a real lightweight that does not load or bend the board. Interestingly, it is worlds lighter than the massive Zotac GTX 1070 Ti Amp! Extreme, but quiet under load and as a result of the won GPU lottery (a kind of threesome with additional number) even a tick faster (affects this specimen) . Thanks to the working fan stop automatic, it is completely silent in the Idle, which Zotac cannot do.

Per
Balanced
Cons
– very light
– acceptable installation dimensions
– Dual slot card
– active cooling baking plate
– low price
– OC only by software
– OC margin average
– moderate Power Target
– light coil fiep
– Processing
– relatively noisy with manual OC

Conclusion

The problem of all GeForce GTX 1070 Ti also applies to the KFA2 card to the full extent, because there are no more unique selling points in the performance. Unfortunately, the limits of overclocking, as well as the actual performance from value, are always the same within a certain tolerance range.

Here, GPU lotto and room temperature alone decide, the rest is just a nice accessory. And this is exactly what KFA2 has deliberately dispensed with for reasons of pricing and has invested only as much in cooling as is really needed for a clean and stable operation.

The card has passed the test and will surely find its buyers. If you are looking for a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti and want to pay attention to your budget, you get a really coherent and balanced offer here without any significant disadvantages.
