ATX 3.0 and 1000 Watt for under 160 Euro? Another reason to let my friend Aris from Hardwarebusters have his say (and picture) on our site, because he not only tested this power supply intensively, but also officially certified it via his company Cybenetics. There you can also find the equipment and the test setup. Since it is surely interesting for you as well, I like to offer him a platform here from case to case to share his findings with you.And don’t forget, his website and YouTube channel also offer real gems of really solid reviews!
The FSP Hydro G Pro 1000W
The FSP Hydro G Pro 1000W is ATX v3.0 compatible and comes with a native 12VHPWR connector, so it can withstand current spikes up to 200% of its maximum rated power. It has compact dimensions, at 150mm deep, and good build quality, but what about performance? Of course, to find out, we need to test in detail!
FSP has recently released two new Hydro G Pro power supplies with 850W and 1000W maximum power, compatible with ATX v3.0 and PCIe 5.0. In this review, I’ll be looking at the 1000W model, which has enough capacity to support an RTX 4090 and a high-end CPU, such as an Intel 13900K or an AMD Ryzen 9 7950x. Despite the high maximum power, the dimensions of the PSU are compact, with 150mm depth aslso rather small. However, I have seen even smaller power supplies, such as the EVGA 1000 G7 manufactured by FSP, which has a depth of only 130mm!
The FSP Hydro G Pro 1000W has been rated Gold and 80 PLUS by Cybenetics, and it also has the Cybenetics A- (25-30 dB[A]) noise rating. A selectable semi-passive mode supports its liquid-bearing fan. This and the quality capacitors will easily outlast the extended ten-year warranty if you don’t stress the PSU much at high operating temperatures.

Before we get to the unboxing, the description and the individual tests on the next pages, I also have the test protocol (Cybenetics Report) for you for the readers of igor’sLAB. Here you can find all the important results of the certification, but of course it can’t replace this review including an explanation of the individual results.
