A new leak in the form of AMD’s chipset drivers confirms the existence of the Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” CPUs found by HXL (@9550pro). These next-generation CPUs are expected to launch in the second half of 2024 and will be available for both desktop and mobile platforms.
This article summarizes all the information found so far about the Zen 5 architecture and the Ryzen 9000 CPUs:
- Performance and efficiency: the Zen 5 architecture is said to offer a significant increase in performance and efficiency over the Zen 4 architecture. AMD has announced improvements in IPC performance, clock frequency and cache design.
- Compatibility: The Ryzen 9000 CPUs will be compatible with the new AM5 socket. Mainboard manufacturers such as ASUS are already working on Zen 5 support, as can be seen in the latest AGESA BIOS updates for AM5 mainboards.
- Product: The Ryzen 9000 family is expected to include a wide range of CPUs for different market segments. These include:
- Desktop: Ryzen 9000X/X3D (Granite Rapids)
- Mobile: Ryzen 9055HX (Fire Range), Ryzen 9050H (Strix Point)
- Others: Kraken Point, Sonoma Valley etc.
