Our colleagues at WccfTech had the pleasure of talking to NVIDA and it turned out that the new GeForce RTX 3050 GPU has been optimized for budget PC gamers and thus extends the RTX experience (within this very narrow corset) to a broad player base. With 6 GB of memory, it should make functions such as RTX Ray Tracing and AI calculations accessible. Many gamers are still using older GTX 1650 and GTX 1050 GPUs, according to the Steam hardware survey.

The current NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 8 GB GPU is currently being sold for the equivalent of 230 to 260 EURO. A lower price of less than 150 EURO for the RTX 3050 6 GB GPU could certainly attract many gamers who use older GPUs. NVIDIA has announced a 4x performance increase for the RTX 3050 6 GB compared to its predecessors, while supporting the latest features such as DLSS Super Resolution.

The RTX 3050 6GB is a great upgrade for GeForce GTX 1650 and GTX 1050 users wanting to experience RTX. The RTX 3050 6GB is up to 4x faster than its predecessors at the same power and it also supports DLSS Super Resolution for superb performance and image quality. It can be powered exclusively by the PCI-E slot, removing the need to think about a PSU upgrade and fitting into even smaller systems, it is an instant plug-and-play upgrade.
The GeForce RTX 3050 6GB is available starting today from our partners ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY and ZOTAC. Please contact our AIC partners for specific model pricing and specifications.
NVIDIA to Wccftech
Best of all, gamerscan game with the 3050 6GB just as easily as with other cards, without having to worry about power requirements. The card is powered directly from the PCIe slot and requires no additional connections.
The new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU is based on the GA107-325-Kx SKU and uses the PG173 SKU16 PCB. It has 2048 cores, which is a 20% reduction compared to the 8 GB model. The core clock is 1470 MHz, which is 17% lower than the 8 GB model. The memory includes 6GB of VRAM and a 96-bit bus interface, compared to the 8GB of VRAM and 128-bit of the original model. The reduction in specifications will result in certain designs that do not require an external power supply and slightly reduce overall power consumption. This is mainly a GPU that requires between 70 and 100 watts of power, depending on the model. The card retains its quad display output, which consists of three DP and one HDMI output.
The official MSRP of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6 GB GPU is 155EURO, with OC models available at a slight premium. In my opinion, for gamers already familiar with the NVIDIA GeForce ecosystem, the card seems like a solid upgrade for their older PCs. However, the market currently offers other great options, such as the Intel Arc A580, which is available for the same price as the 3050 6GB model and competes with the 3050 8GB models in terms of performance. As an AMD alternative, the RX 6600 8 GB is available for a little under 200 EURO. For budget gamers, the 6GB memory at 1080p may be sufficient as they are coming from 3GB or 4GB cards and anything above that will seem like an upgrade. Personally, however, I would prefer an 8 GB card for entry-level 1080p PC gamers. At the very least.
