Beelink U59 mini PC Review: 10 watts + 10 nanometers = full-fledged computer?

Before angry comments are made in the forum that a Celeron CPU also has its raison d’être: The title of this article is to be understood with a wink. However, we still check whether a processor from Intel’s lower drawer paired with Windows 11 is suitable for everyday use.

The last mini-PC with an N-CPU was not quite convincing in terms of performance. But he was also smaller than any other, more about that here:

Packaging and scope of delivery

This system comes in Beelink’s new cuboid box and, aside from a few blueb accents, has a white design.

Two layers of cardboard protect the sides, from the top and bottom a thin layer of foam takes over the transport protection.

The accessories consist of a short manual, the power adapter as well as VESA mount and two HDMI cables.

Length of the cables is 20cm and 100cm, respectively, convenient when the computer hangs directly on the monitor or is placed on the desk.

Kein erboster Kommentar, aber doch eine Frage: ist die Angabe zur iGPU Taktrate korrekt? 2933 MHz wären eine echte Hausnummer. Nehme Mal an, daß beim Layout hier die RAM Geschwindigkeit neben die GPU geschoben hat, aber wenn nicht - schnell wär's.

Für manche Kunden reicht die Leistung vollkommen aus. Mir würde es fürs Homeoffice ebenfalls reichen, denn ich brauche nur Remotedesktop. Allerdings würde ich mir bei 10 Watt Verlustleistung eine ausreichend dimensionierte passive Kühlung wünschen.

Das ist ein Fehler in deren Layout, richtige Daten sind 450Mhz Base / 800Mhz Boost :D

Wie viel Strom zieht der Kasten bei leichten Workloads - sagen wir mal 50% Last - und wie laut wird der Lüfter?

Der M.2 Slot kann nur SATA, richtig?

Hallo,
was mich interessieren würde was nirgend wo steht.
Wenn PC ausgeschaltet wird gehen dann auch die hinteren in die Strom lose Phase oder nur auf der Vorderseite?
So ist das bei meinem HM80 und nein bisher habe ich keine Option dafür im Bios gefunden.

In my opinion too many sacrifices were made on this PC that diminish it's value. A 300 euro buys you a Lenovo 15.6'' laptop with a ryzen 3250U, a fully functional mobile PC. For the little box you need to add screen, keyboard, mouse and still be bound to the desk :)

Not everyone wants a laptop, since not everyone needs a laptop. It takes much more space on your desk. The Screen is much smaller than a regular external screen. Not everyone likes to use a notebook keyboard. The battery gets bad when being fully charged and not used over a long period of time. And many notebooks cannot be upgraded, in this model you can change the RAM or even add an HDD or another SSD. Additionally, this mini PC can be mounted at the back of a screen or TV and therefore be virtually invisible without needing any space on a desk or tv rack.

Sure, for many users a laptop might be a better choice, but there are still advantages of mini PCs like this one.
