It seems that AMD’s AM4 CPU platform is far from having reached the end of its possibilities. This can be deduced from a possible information leak from the Persian medium sakhtafzarmag. According to the leak, AMD is planning at least five new SKUs, including the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, Ryzen 5 5600X3D, Ryzen 5 5600GT, Ryzen 5 5500GT and Ryzen 7 5700, which are due to be launched soon and promise even better performance than their predecessors.
The specifications of the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D and Ryzen 5 5600X3D are known. The Ryzen 7 5700X3D is a slightly reduced version of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D with the same 8 cores and 16 threads, but lower clock frequencies of 3.0 GHz (base) and 4.1 GHz (boost). The chip has an L3 cache of 96 MB and a TDP of 105 watts. The Ryzen 5 5500X3D offers 6 cores and 12 threads, a base clock of 3.0 GHz, boost clock frequencies of up to 4.0 GHz and also an L3 cache of 96 MB. The clock frequencies of both chips are lower than the non-X3D parts due to the stricter performance and thermal limits of the first-generation 3D V-Cache. The Ryzen 5700X3D is about 400 MHz slower than the 5800X3D, while the Ryzen 5500X3D is 300 MHz slower in terms of base frequencies and 400 MHz slower in terms of boost frequencies.
These new products will ensure that AM4 weizer remains intact and benefits from the improved gaming performance made possible by the introduction of 3D V-Cache technology. Additionally, AMD is apparently planning to replace the existing Ryzen 5 5600G APU with the Ryzen 5 5600GT and Ryzen 5 5500GT. The “GT” designation is new to the Ryzen APU family and it is likely that the two chips will offer a minor upgrade. In addition, the Ryzen 7 5700 is expected to be offered as an entry-level 8-core product based on the Zen 3-core architecture.
It is said that all of these new chips will be launched by the end of January. They may also be introduced at the same time as the Ryzen 8000G AM5 desktop APU family. However, they are expected to be available at retail in early February.
