The German company TUXEDO has unveiled its new Sirius 16 Gen 2 laptop, which features a Linux system as well as the latest APU from AMD, the Ryzen 7 8845HS, and also has a lot more to offer.
The German company is presenting the laptop with an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS. This has an 8-core and 16-thread configuration and has a base clock of 3.8 GHz, which can be overclocked up to 5.1 GHz with 45 TDP. The dedicated graphics card on board is an AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT, which is based on AMD’s Navi 33 RDNA 3 architecture and has 8 GB of GDDR6 memory. The GPU has a total of 32 processing units, 2048 shader units, 32 MB Infinity cache, which runs via a 128-bit bus interface and offers a gaming frequency of 2300 MHz. A DDR5 variant has been chosen for the RAM, which runs at up to 5600 MHz and is expandable up to 96 GB.
You can expect a 2560 x 1440 display with a screen brightness of 300 nits and up to 165Hz. This new laptop fits 2 M.2 2280 SSDs via PCI Express 4.0 x4 and is configurable up to 8 TB. The interfaces include 1 USB-A 3.2 Gen2, 1 USB-A 3.2 Gen2, 1 USB-C 4.0 Gen3x2 and an HDMI 2.1 port. There is also a LAN, microphone and headset connection.
The interesting thing about this new laptop is that you can use Linux as the operating system, which is actually unusual. However, it may become an attractive product for some customers. It should be noted, however, that the Linux version is not installed natively, but runs via TUXEDO’s own TUXEDO OS. The entry-level price is 1,666 euros and with the most expensive technical specification you can get a total of 3,000 euros. Delivery is scheduled to start in June.
