Today we’ll take a look at a monitor that is somehow different. Different in the sense of the target group. Different compared to most monitors on the market. The BenQ ZOWIE XL2566K was developed and designed specifically for eSports professionals. I really wanted to take a look at this monitor, because in terms of motion clarity, the XL2566K is supposed to be the measure of all things.
The XL2566K relies on TN technology, yes you don’t have to rub your eyes. A TN panel comes with both advantages and disadvantages. And, when testing an eSports monitor, don’t just dwell on the disadvantages of TN and let the advantages go under. For this reason, we’ll take a special look at motion performance today. We only look at the color accuracy with half an eye.
I’m aware that I’m coming around the corner quite late with my article, and there’s a reason for that. Because I am not a great like Tim from Hardware Unboxed or Optimum Tech. That’s why I’m even more pleased that BenQ believes that I’m one of the few people in the world who can realistically evaluate this monitor. You won’t find an article in this depth – with numbers/data/facts – in the German-speaking world in particular.
So much as an introduction in advance. As always, let’s look at the manufacturer’s data first. Of course, there is also the link to the homepage: Click here!
Technical data
Unfortunately, BenQ only offers HDMI 2.0, so you’re limited to 240 Hz via HDMI. If you want the full 360 Hz, you have to use the included DP cable. But PC users will probably prefer DisplayPort either way. Let’s take a look at the build quality and ergonomics of the XL2566K.
