Hello and thank you for everything. Currently, I have a 5600XT in which I have flashed the modified bios by Red BIOS Editor. However, the BIOS did not work, the system hangs during POST. This is no problem, I am used to flashing BIOS with SPI Programmer CH341a, I am free to test anything.

I think maybe this did not work due to the fact that my card is dual BIOS, and when I read the BIOS from the memory chip, it comes out with 1024kb, rather than the 512kb saved from GPU-Z. When I try to open this extracted BIOS with RBE, it modifies fine, but does not save by stating "An unknown error occurred when accessing (filename path). This is not a permission issue, I am running admin. It works fine to save the file when I use the GPUz extracted rom. However, even with the 512KB file, it does not work to post the card.

I have tried several things, the last one was to make only a very small change on the GFX Maximum Clock to 1900MHz. It still does not work. I originally made a BIOS with a lot more changes and limits, such as 2100, 1000 memory, more power, voltage, etc, etc. but decided to make a small alteration to see if it would work-- unfortunately it doesn't.

I have also tried to open in HxD the original long file 1024kb and noticed it makes no difference, because after 000FFFF0 it is only 0's anyway. Also, in HxD, I have tried to open the original stock BIOS and overwrite the part, leaving the correct file size, but this also did not work to POST. Stock BIOS still works fine when re-flashed, card is perfect.

So, I am leaving a link to my files, to see if we can figure out why the modified BIOS is not working on my 5600XT.
Here is the URL: http://xonedigital.com/BIOS_etc.zip
on this ZIP file, there are the following:
1 - 5600xt1_gpuz.rom (Original BIOS from the card extracted with GPU-Z)
2 - 5600xt-stock_extract.rom (This is the BIOS file extracted from the Chip with SPI Programmer, it loads on RBE, but fails to save)
3 - mpt-1900_only.mpt (This is an example of a small change I tried to see if it would work, only changing maximum clock to 1900mhz)
4 - 1900-ONLY-BIOS1.rom (This is the final outcome of RED BIOS EDITOR using the GPU-Z BIOS with the MorePowerTool settings of 1900mhz)

I hope this helps, thank you so much for all your work again and let me know if anything else is needed. I am really looking forward to free up the power of this 5600XT :)

Thanks again!

For those to whom it may interest

Test carried out with an xfx rx 5600 xt thicc ii pro (12gbps)

I ran unigine heaven (1080p and fully configured) for 5 hours straight with the following modifications all on radeon software :

freq. gpu ---> 2045 ---> 2005 real
voltage ---> 1.084, becomes unstable below

freq. memory ---> 1750, not yet find the happy medium but crash in 1860

fans (progressive curve) ---> +/- 2000 rpm

GPU temperature ---> varies between 65 ° and 70 °

junction temperature ---> varies between 75 ° and 80 °

I will let it run for a few more hours to make sure the pc doesn't crash

thanks again to Mini_Me for helping me and unlock my bios

Greetings everyone,

I am currently working on a hybrid power table, if it is a success then You will be able to run the memory stably at 1960 MHz or even more while maintaining the undervolt ratio of 2 between the core clock and the voltage VDD, with this the RX 5600 XT may surpass an overclocked RTX 2060.

Awesome. I did a little more poking at my card's memory using timespy stress test runs (~20 min cycling through the same test) and came to find my 5600 xt pulse with its 1750 mhz-rated ddr6 and a memory contact plate got through the stress tests with memory 1930 mhz but crashed at 1940 with the memory temp only being 70C peak. I was purposely keeping the GPU clockspeed down to focus on the memory during those runs. Admittedly, going from memory 1900 mhz to 1930 mhz only added 0.32 fps to the timespy average during those stress tests.

Every card is a bit different, but I appreciate your efforts to help people explore what these cards can do.

Do you guys have any ideas on which program I can use to control fans and use MSI Afterburner to clock? Significant increase in performance using afterburner only vs the AMD software.

Mini_me, thank you much for the cracked Bios and advice, I really appreciate all the help especially with me being such a noob!

You are welcome,

We were all novice at the start, after that we learned by studying and practicing and gained experience.

If you want to unlock your card vbios then please feel free to send it to me.

Hi Mini_Me, I didn't want to throw more bios files at you when others had likely given you the same files and I was unsure what ranges I needed available. I extracted both my stock and silent bios files with gpuz and took the sha1 hash (using 7zip's hash tool) to match up the stock bios with this / SHA1: 5CB31A9B99A32EE6426D23510B7EDE583082FA8A BIOS Build date: 2020-02-25 and the silent bios with this / SHA1: 676130B261F1564B7EAE94A81A0F75060A9290A3 in techpowerups database.

AFAIK, the stock bios can be modified and flashed into the silent bios position that I've already flashed, as long as I put the msi 224178.rom intermediate bios in-between.
edit: This isn't necessary. In fact, I needed to flash the original Sapphire silent ROM back and then just flash the mini_me sapphire modified OC bios in - instructions from back on the 27th here. Apparently I still need to edit mini_me's bios in MorePowerTools to open up the various ranges and tuning parameters though.

Hi guys, I have an asus dual 5600xt and a gigabyte 5700(flashed to xt). If I exceed 1.1V, they both start coil whining. I believe this is how the PCB is made, but is it safe for 24/7 usage?

RX 5700 GAMING OC (with the 5700xt gigabyte gaming oc bios)
ASUS DUAL RX 5600XT EVO TOP
You unlocked the rom for the 5600xt(thanks again btw). Anyway, both of these cards start whining above 1.1V. They perform well and the whining is not that noticeable, but it is present

Awesome news, I suspect we are going to start seeing some good scores on 3D Mark popping up from these cards, had a stable run at

Core Voltage - 1070mV
Power Limit - 40%
Core Clock - 2070mhz (2040 actual)
Mem Clock - 1910mhz

I have modified the fan curve to keep core at 60c / mem 65-70c.

Really impressed by the card. According afterburner it was pulling 185w.

I am doing my best, at the same time currently we are working on unlocking RX 5500 XT as well.

Hello everyone, I have a problem with Sapphire Pulse rx5600xt. Mini Me, can you please modify my bios for me. If all goes well, I will post the results here. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks in advance.

@Mini_Me Any ideas if this whining issue above 1.1V should be a concern or not? And amazing that you're trying on 5500xt too, I would be glad to test that aswell. But my second concern is, isn't the 5500xt bottlenecked by its own cores? Unlocking the core clock wouldn't bring that much to the table as for 5600xt/5700, right? Anyway, I hope to get an answer to these both questions, much love <3

I will send you a refined vbios for your Asus 5600 XT Evo and Gigabyte Gaming 5700 XT.
