I am contemplating about buying this card because someone is offering this to me for a cheaper price here where I live. From my understanding, this card is just the "professional" / "workstation" equivalent of RX 5700 XT.

Any thoughts on this card? Has anyone here actually used this for mining? Does anyone know what the hashrate is? Can an unlocked BIOS be flashed on this GPU?

AMD Radeon W5700. Original factory settings. I have set the the fun about 65%, GPU temperature abot 62C.
Are the screenshots taken on the original BIOS or modified? What is the memory temperature? Have you tried TimRed miner, is it more optimized for amd? And the question of overclocking, did I do everything on the stock value?

What is important is pool hashrate, you will be paid by pool. For me modded bios from this forum makes my cards real hashrate about 35% lower.

Original BIOS. No overclocking, factory settings. I can not say what is the memory temperature but I have mesured the temperature and the hotest part of this card is about 65C, fun 65% and 150W of power consuming. As a can see in original BIOS, power consumption is limited to 150W.
I could try to put this limit a bit higher but I am afraid I could burn the GPU.

I stopped using Phoenixminer about three months ago as it always over-reported the hash rate and it was always higher than what the pool was reporting. I switched to Teamred Miner and that matches what Ethermine pool says. With the mini_me bios mod I get, depending on the memory on the card, 55MH/s on the W5700 using between 90W-105W (the ones with the samsung memory use less power, but are harder to get to 55MH/s in my experience).

Flashed with what program? Here I think to flash directly from Hive OS, has anyone here so flashed from Hive?

Yes, from HiveOS. I usually select "force flashing", but sometimes it fails on HiveOS. If it does fail then I do it with Windows.

Here's an example of what HiveOS says when it works:1624540939004.png

And this is for one that failed:

For this case my mod bios is fine.
Can you send me your file to test it?

I usually use Windows 10 and it works perfect. Amdvbflash. You must use it in a safe mode and from command line. Version 2.93 with -f command to force flashing.

My 1st card modding consumed hours because I tried to modded my own vBIOS
and it bricked my card. I had to learn how to recover my card.

Now It consumed only 15 mins to replace all of vRAM thermal pads but I have to
cut thermal pads ready before I disassembly the card.

The original GPU cooling part is not paste. It's graphite thermal pad.
I don't think it's necessary to replace original GPU thermal pad with
paste. It's already good enough.

But it will improve the junction temp (aka hotspot) by 3c if you do
(using Cooler Master MasterGel Maker improve 3c and I think using
Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme will improve around 5c).

And you must add 0.5-0.8mm plastic washer underneath the GPU mounting bracket
behind the card. If you do not add the plastic washer then the mounting pressure
will not be enough to spread the thermal paste effectively which will result
in higher temp than the original GPU thermal pad.
I have just replaced my first thermal pads in W5700. Yes, the memory temperatures are much lower. But I have one problem now. I have obviously missed something - either one pad is missing or redundant. The card reports "GPU temperature (Hot Spot)" at 90°C, should be like 60°C. Do you know which sensor is this, or even better what could I have done wrong? GPU graphite thermal pad is the same (original).

It seem like there is no enough mounting pressure around the GPU chip
or you used the wrong vRAM thermal pad thickness.

What was the pad thickness that you use?

I'm able to get 55.6MH/s at 104W with Micron Memory
and 55.1MH/s at 85W with Samsung Memory.

With totally 0 rejection.

I have replaced ALL the thermal pads with 1.5mm thickness. All the temperatures are lower except GPU and GPU junction. These two should be around 50°C and 60°C. At the moment they are sitting around 60°C and 73°C. This is after I have replaced GPU graphite thermal pad with a paste (before, the junction was about 90°C). And yes, I have used a plastic washer. It seems to me that some of the thermal pads are too thick. On VRMs I have used one continuous peace of 1.5mm thermal pad, maybe this was a mistake?

Yes.. VRM is using 1.0mm

Mini_Me thank you for all your help with the W5700s. I was able to update one of my cards to your vbios above, and everything is great expect for the efficiency of the hashing. Do you have any suggestions for what to edit to fix that? It seems like it's usually a sign of instability with the tuning. The power savings is amazing.
Hello, can you tell if this is minerstat os or window? I’m trying to find a way to monitor the performance and thr minerstat window doesnt show any info about temperature and power. Thanks
