Hello and thank you for everything. Currently, I have a 5600XT in which I have flashed the modified bios by Red BIOS Editor. However, the BIOS did not work, the system hangs during POST. This is no problem, I am used to flashing BIOS with SPI Programmer CH341a, I am free to test anything.

I think maybe this did not work due to the fact that my card is dual BIOS, and when I read the BIOS from the memory chip, it comes out with 1024kb, rather than the 512kb saved from GPU-Z. When I try to open this extracted BIOS with RBE, it modifies fine, but does not save by stating "An unknown error occurred when accessing (filename path). This is not a permission issue, I am running admin. It works fine to save the file when I use the GPUz extracted rom. However, even with the 512KB file, it does not work to post the card.

I have tried several things, the last one was to make only a very small change on the GFX Maximum Clock to 1900MHz. It still does not work. I originally made a BIOS with a lot more changes and limits, such as 2100, 1000 memory, more power, voltage, etc, etc. but decided to make a small alteration to see if it would work-- unfortunately it doesn't.

I have also tried to open in HxD the original long file 1024kb and noticed it makes no difference, because after 000FFFF0 it is only 0's anyway. Also, in HxD, I have tried to open the original stock BIOS and overwrite the part, leaving the correct file size, but this also did not work to POST. Stock BIOS still works fine when re-flashed, card is perfect.

So, I am leaving a link to my files, to see if we can figure out why the modified BIOS is not working on my 5600XT.
Here is the URL: http://xonedigital.com/BIOS_etc.zip
on this ZIP file, there are the following:
1 - 5600xt1_gpuz.rom (Original BIOS from the card extracted with GPU-Z)
2 - 5600xt-stock_extract.rom (This is the BIOS file extracted from the Chip with SPI Programmer, it loads on RBE, but fails to save)
3 - mpt-1900_only.mpt (This is an example of a small change I tried to see if it would work, only changing maximum clock to 1900mhz)
4 - 1900-ONLY-BIOS1.rom (This is the final outcome of RED BIOS EDITOR using the GPU-Z BIOS with the MorePowerTool settings of 1900mhz)

I hope this helps, thank you so much for all your work again and let me know if anything else is needed. I am really looking forward to free up the power of this 5600XT :)

Thanks again!

Rx 5600xt Sapphire Pulse... I have seen some people here with the same... so if I won't be able to get it to work, I might just try with some bioses that worked for any of you...

Hello Mini_Me

Could you unlock the bios of my xfx rx 5600 xt thicc ii pro (56xt6dfd6) please?

It's been a while since I tried to unlock it but no results.

Here are the two versions:

Due to 1x8pin power connector, I believe for 5600 XT and best power table is as below,

- Under Overdrive Limits tab, set:
GFX Maximum Clock 2100 MHz
Memory Maximum Clock 950 MHz
Power Limit Maximum + 25%

- Under Frequency tap, set:
Memory DPM 3 - 900 MHz

When using AMD wattman or any other program use the setting for best stable performance to temperature ratio and it is important when undervolting to not let the ratio between core clock and vdd exceed 2, for an example, 2100 MHz ÷ 1050 mV = 2,

Core clock, VDD
2100 MHz, 1050 mV, for max safe undervolting for max performance,

Memory clock, 1820 MHz (Samsung and Micron) for best temperature to performance ratio,
or 1870 MHz (Micron) for best performance.
Just an FYI, there might be a little more room for maximum memory clock on the 5600xt. I'm playing around with what I think is the redpanda bios on a Sapphire Pulse with micron memory and completed timespy with memory at 1960 mhz but had memory glitch and crash at 1980 mhz.

If I understand your post correctly (and I am not experienced at AMD bios editing), it sounds like 950x2 will top off at 1900 on the memory slider.

Certainly there is however the temperature is important, please could you inform what is the temperature of the memory at 1960 MHz?

By the way, the power table of the vbios of redpanda is a 5700 XT one which use higher voltages for the memory controller and other components related to it, the problem it is unknown if it is safe or not, the one who made the redpanda vbios has paid no regards to anything as it seems he does not care about the safety of the card on the long run,

If Mr. Igor approved regarding using the voltages values for the memory controller and the components affiliated with it then I may apply these values when unlocking the vbios.

These are short benchmark runs I'm doing now and I've certainly not got enough data to call something safe or not. I just set the memory to 1970 and ran timespy with a safer 2060 core clock to focus on memory. GPUZ reports the MAX gpu temp of 68C, 83C hotspot, 60C mem, 52C VRM during the run. It says my max mem clock was 1976 mhz. The computer is in a colder basement with the sidepanel off, but nothing exotic.

I am in no way endorsing the red panda bios as it's just the first one I've tried. My hope is to eventually modify a bios with far more reasonable boundaries than it (and I'm certainly willing to try a 5600 xt pulse bios from you).

Please send me your vbios file and after I finish I will update you whenever it is possible.

Hello there

I have a problem . I have RadeonRX5600XT-6G-Micron_GDDR6-113-4E4111U-O4C. I wanted to make bios mod with red bios. I watched videos of the red panda and I think I broke a card.
When I plug the gpu into the motherboard, the motherboard does not install bios and I see a black screen.
How can I get this card to work?

Hello and welcome,

Is your problem that you can not reflash your original backup vbios?

That model number is the Sapphire Pulse 5600xt which should have a dual bios switch. If the hardware isn't physically damaged you can boot with the switched in the unflashed position/the factory bios and then move the switch over to the modified bios after you've booted to attempt working on the corrupted bios chip.
