Hi,
I am failing to update Gigabyte 5700 XT. The same procedure updates the BIOS on MSI cards with no problem. I follow the instructions on Igors Lab.

The sign of having trouble with the card bios flash shows in GPU-Z. After flash using amdvbflash the values of GPU and memory frequencies is empty. With stock bios there are Mhz frequencies.

Is there any known problems with flashing Gigabyte cards?
Any suggestions on what other forums I may ask for assistance?
Is it possible that the OEM bios is signed, and any modified bios will be rejected?
If the bios is signed, any tools to resign, or would I need to buy a card from a different vendor?

Thanks,

Alley Cat

Hello All !
What about hynix straps?
Just received few MSI RX 5700 XT Gaming X and they all have Hynix memory chips.
In the vbios I can found straps for Samsung, Micron and Hynix chips.
I did copy 1500 strap to higher ones, and modded tref to 6000

quite stable, but high temp on memory...
any advice?
thanks !
Hello and welcome,

I am going to add hynix memory to the guide regarding the straps and the correct voltages, I will update you after I finish as I am correcting the tdp and tdc value as well.

Thanks, that's what I did, but my question was about straps for Hynix memory as the tutorial does not mention this memory vendor :)
Maybe apple straps somewhere for Hynix ;)

Thanks anyway !
Unfortunately there is no Apple straps for Hynix, and the way you did by copying the strapof 1500 MHz to the rest is highly not recommended, let me add the instructions first as this is a thoroughly tested one.

Noted, I'll wait for your advices ;)
Thanks !
Please check the updated guide in the kindly attached link below and I would appreciate your feedbacks,

Thanks a lot !
As soon as I'll have a little spare time, I'll make some tests.

Ok, I did follow your guide for modding my bioses

GPU 0 is straight from the guide (using freq/voltage values from the end of the post for hynix)
GPU 1 is the same but with tREF setted to 6000 --> nearly 1 MH gain.
GPU 2 is the same but with tREF setted to 7000 --> no change from GPU 1.

I saw that you specified specific tREF depending on frequency for samsung and micron, any advice for hynix?

Thanks a lot for sharing your work !

Have you applied the tREF from the guide as well because the hash rate of gpu 0 is not the expected.

Please re check the guide again, I added Hynix to the tREF table.
