Hi,
I am failing to update Gigabyte 5700 XT. The same procedure updates the BIOS on MSI cards with no problem. I follow the instructions on Igors Lab.

The sign of having trouble with the card bios flash shows in GPU-Z. After flash using amdvbflash the values of GPU and memory frequencies is empty. With stock bios there are Mhz frequencies.

Is there any known problems with flashing Gigabyte cards?
Any suggestions on what other forums I may ask for assistance?
Is it possible that the OEM bios is signed, and any modified bios will be rejected?
If the bios is signed, any tools to resign, or would I need to buy a card from a different vendor?

Thanks,

Alley Cat

Hello everyone. I have 3x sapphire rx 5700 xt nitro+ SE. After 1 day of mining i realized that on first card bios switch button is all to the left, and on the other two its to the right. I was building rig with my friend so maybe he accidentaly moved that button on the other cards. Card have 3 bios you can choose. I guess you are familiar with that. So we bios moded cards in Red Bios Editor. So please tell me what i just havec done to my cards, did i messed up? Bcs first position is Performance mode, middle one is Silent mode and third one is software switch mode. As i can see my first card(GPU 0) in rig is on correct position, and other two are in software switch mode. Can you please give me advice what to do. Shoud i turn of rig and try to put back stock bios?
Hello and welcome,

If everything is working normally then let it this way unless you are facing a problem then we are going to attend to it.

I flashed cards to original bios. I am struggling since i started mining with these cards to make stable rig. I bios moded with red editor by copying strap from 1550Mhz to others. Also i did mpt file in MorePower tool, but i am not sure is that working correctly bcs i am on Hive Os, not windows. Can you please help me with my bios moding for this card. I was reading forum all night but i couldnt find best for me. Also what i have noticed, but maybe i am wrong. Since i retarted cards and start mining again my accepted shares in pool are very low. Like its 1 share per min, sometimes less. At the moment it is for 45 min accepted shares.

Please read this post below thoroughly,

I cant find almost anyone with nitro+ SE cards i can check their work. Can you please tell me should i use Apple straps and where i can download them?

Thank you for replay. Can you tell me, bcs i am confused now. Shoud i modife Silent bios instead of Performance bios?

I will tell you what i have done last night. After i changed to Oc position, as cards comes at stock, i modifyied that bios copying strap 1550mhz for all others. After that i changed Tref on 1550mhz from 2945 to 8835 , 2945 x3=8835 as one friend tell me to do so. What i have got is 55.1 Mh/s in TRM on Hive OS, and on Phoenix it was 56.6 mh/s. But my friend tells me that Phoenix is not accurate. After that i flashed back bios to stock bcs as i said last night i was worried about accepted shares bcs my efective hash rate was to low compared to real one. So my Oc bios mode is flashed back to stock and its working liek that.

Hi! I have 2 Gigabyte RX5700 XT Gaming OC v1. But there are 2 different Flash types. One is W25Q80 and the other is GD25Q80C. I followed the forum page 2, page 12, page 35 to Mod Bios. But MEM TEMP is always over 90. I have tried any combination of core, vdd, vddci, mvdd, mem. No improvement. Can anyone help me Mod Bios? Thank you!

Greetings,

Please follow the guide below,

The below is the settings for best performance and power consumption for safe 24/7 operating,

÷ Using MorePowerTool from the kindly attached link below,

Apply the setting below,

- Under Overdrive Limits tab, set:
GFX Maximum Clock 1440 MHz
Memory Maximum Clock 960 MHz
Power Limit Maximum 0%
Power Limit Minimum 0%
Memory Timing Control 1 [For computing (mining), default is 2 for gaming]

- Under Power and Voltages, set:
Maximum Voltage GFX 1050 mV [must not be lower than this as the MVDD default value in the vbios is at 1350 mV and the VDD must be within 300 mV range with MVDD or components may get degraded and permanent damaged]
Maximum Voltage SoC 1050 mV [must not be lower than this like the Maximum Voltage GFX]
Minimum Voltage GFX 750 mV
Minimum Voltage SoC 750 mV
Power Limit GPU 140 W
TDC Limit GFX 120 A
TDC Limit SoC 12 A

- Under Frequency tap, set:
GFX Maximum 1260 MHz
Memory DPM 3 - 910 MHz

[Regarding SoC Maximum, must kept at default 1267 MHz in the vbios, capping it at another value must be done inside the OS using a sctipt in linux or editing the registry using MorePowerTool in Windows and at your own discretion, recommended values for memory types at specific clocks as below,
Memory Clock - - - > SoC Maximum,
910 (1820) MHz - - - > 957 MHz (Samsung & Micron),
950 (1900) MHz - - - > 1097 MHz (Micron, here the default 1267 MHz is preferred),

- Under Fan tab, set:
Stop Temperature 60° C
Start Temperature 70° C

÷ Regarding the memory vram timings,

The 2 options below are the best ones for stability, performance and power consumption,

Option 1 (Preferred and Recommended), applying Apple Inc. vram timings straps linked below, once for MT61K256M32 Micron, and Save the vbios after that load the saved vbios and once again apply the straps for K4Z80325BC Samsung if it is existed and save the vbios again,

Option 2 (Universal), applying vram timings as below for both Samsung and Micron like before,

- K4Z80325BC (Samsung)
(1500 or 1550) MHz (Copy) - - - > (Paste) 1800 MHz
1800 MHz - - - > 2000 MHz
2000 MHz - - - > 2250 MHz

- MT61K256M32 (Micron)
(1500 or 1550) MHz - - - > (1750 - 1800) MHz
1750 MHz - - - > (1875 - 2000) MHz

Memory Clock - tREF
1000 MHz - 3900 (Samsung & Micron)
1250 MHz - 4875 (Samsung & Micron)
(1500 or 1550) MHz - 6045 (Samsung & Micron)
1750 MHz - 6825 (Micron only)
1800 MHz - 7020 (Samsung & Micron)
1875 MHz - 7315 (Micron only)
2000 MHz - 7800 (Samsung & Micron)
2250 MHz - 8775 (Samsung only)

÷ Regarding parameters settings as below,

- Core parameters,
Core State: 1 (HiveOS),
Mem State: 1 (HiveOS),
Core clock from (1380 to 1430) MHz, VDD at (770 - 790) mV, keep the ratio of Core clock to VDD = 1.80 or below (default is 1.70) as beyond that negative scaling may start which means lowering performance and occurring instability and increasing temperature.

- Memory parameters,
~Samsung K4Z80325BC-HC14,
Memory clock at 910 MHz more than this is not stable, VDDCI at 850 mV (800 mV is the minimum and less than this is not recommended), MVDD at 1350 mV (1310 mV is the minimum and less than this is not recommended),

~Micron MT61K256M32JE-14,
Memory clock at 910 MHz for power saving and lower temperature like for Samsung memory and 950 MHz for performance, VDDCI at 900 mV (850 mV is the minimum for memory clock 915 MHz and above), MVDD 1350 mV [the minimum is 1310 mV for memory clock 910 MHz and below],

[*Disclaimer regarding the memory temperature to avoid and prevent its degradation and being baked again that might lead to connection loose,

For Samsung memory K4Z80325BC-HC14,
For operating at 24/7, the temperature must not exceed 74° C,
Other than this will fall under the below,
At (80 ± 5)° C, operating for 24/7 requires putting the system on a break of 1 to 2 hour (depending on the ambient temperature) after 48 hour of operation,
At (100 ± 5)° C, operating for 24/7 requires putting the system on a break of 1 to 2 hour (depending on the ambient temperature) after 36 hour of operation,
At (125 ± 5)° C, operating for 24/7 requires putting the system on a break of 1 to 2 hour (depending on the ambient temperature) after 24 hour of operation,

For Micron memory MT61K256M32JE-14, it is the same as for Samsung K4Z80325BC-HC14 even thought Micron Inc. stated it can run from (0 to 95)° C, however this is for normal use and not for 24/7 of operation].

Due to air cooling is being used the highly recommend setting as below,

Core clock, VDD : Memory clock, VDDCI, MVDD
- 1380 MHz, 770 mV : 900 MHz, 800 mV or 850 mV, 1310 mV or 1350 mV,
- 1385 MHz, 770 mV : 905 MHz, 800 mV or 850 mV, 1310 mV or 1350 mV,
- 1390 MHz, 775 mV : 910 MHz, 800 mV or 850 mV, 1310 mV or 1350 mV,
- 1430 MHz, 795 mV : 950 MHz, 850 mV or 900 mV, 1350 mV or 1360 mV,
1435 MHz, 800 mV : 955 MHz, 850 mV or 900 mV, 1350 mV or 1360 mV,
- 1440 MHz, 800 mV : 960 MHz, 850 mV or 900 mV, 1350 mV or 1365 mV.
Can you please tell me if these settings in MorePowertool can be used for SAMSUNG memory?
These ones:
- Under Overdrive Limits tab, set:
GFX Maximum Clock 1440 MHz
Memory Maximum Clock 960 MHz
Power Limit Maximum 0%
Power Limit Minimum 0%
Memory Timing Control 1 [For computing (mining), default is 2 for gaming]

- Under Power and Voltages, set:

Minimum Voltage GFX 750 mV
Minimum Voltage SoC 750 mV
Power Limit GPU 140 W
TDC Limit GFX 120 A
TDC Limit SoC 12 A

- Under Frequency tap, set:
GFX Maximum 1260 MHz
Memory DPM 3 - 910 MHz

Update.
I have sett Apple straps, and Morepowertool i didnt touch just changed power limit from 240 to 200. I didnt experminet until you confirm to me that i can use settings above in MPT.
So i have sett values liek this 1385 core / vdd 780 / vddci 800/ and mem 900. It was all fine for about 45min than system restarded(crashed). So can you please tell me what to change?

I am using teamredminer on 2miners pool.

Please test the vbios files in the kindly attached post below, and do send me your backup original silent vbios as well,

i got it finally, point is to flash newer card with bios of older card (same series but if you have 2.0 than 1.0 is needed). I just downloaded bios from gigabyte website from gigabyte aouros rev 1.0 (because my is 2.0) but bios file is only 512kb while my original is 1mb. Should I do it anywhay?
