[QUOTE = "Igor Wallossek, post: 2982, member: 3"] At first: Thank you for the response
And finally:
Did you read my findings about different surfaces?
I made so many 50 runs, tried different CPUs, sockets and coolers to write a fair and objective conclusion. For my own interest I tried to remove the air completely. Better results in each case! But this makes the idea totally unnecessary. And exactly this is the problem. The target group for such a product. I'm sure 80% of our readers have no problem with using normal grease. This is the difference between the readers here and Amazon
I like the idea behind, no discussion. But price and performance are a good reason to use it in the SI business (in theory the best use case). These guys are fighting for each cent or each washer or screw less or more. Their coolers are mostly so weak. And your target group? If I follow your arguments, these are the same people who have taken exactly this SI crap before. And exactly this 80% of all users are mostly unable to remove the PC
The experiences from a larger business have come up with the same problem: D

Nothing but respect here on your rigorous test methods I have been doing R&D testing for 40 years and am aware of the importance of detail.
From my experience I just had to glance at your test data and see that your results were were only a degree or two off mine which is about as good as it gets even between world class labs that's the kind of multi test result one would anticipate.
As far as the rough vs smooth perhaps something lost in translation but have results that are contrary, one of my beta testers on HWBOT I believe somewhere around #25 world wide got a different result with a machine shop lapped cooler to .0002 tolerance. No matter though different equipment different paste, both data sets I believe are good and general agreement not suitable for high end overclocking. But he would not hesitate to put it on his wife's computer.
One HWBOT beta tester set world records with the pad on a GPU. What's differences there are remain mystery to me as competition makes them very secretive about their methods. But as more people test different pros and cons will make themselves more apparent.
Thermal pads are just beginning their development cycle and thermal paste is pretty much at the end of the "S" curve development after 30 years.
Material research where it's at in thermal products and as noted when volume sales kick in prices drop the consumer wins while the manufacturers battle it out, the nature of capitalism. From manufacturers samples I have I believe pads will be as common as confetti in a year price margins will be razor thin and the consumer will benefit with array of alternative choices.
