Oh, ok. Warum wechselt AMD die Library, und updated nicht einfach die Vorversion die mehr Features hat? Die Vorversion wird ja immerhin auch noch verwendet vom Treiber.

Da gibt es Theorien. Arbeitsbeschaffungsmaßnahme ist eine davon. ADLX sollte wohl alles mal vereinen, aber am Ende ist es wieder spezifisch für die einzelnen GPUs und mit Version 1.2 auch schon wieder Flickwerk.

Auwei. Ich habs mir gedacht. Dass das "Update" am ende unvollständig bleibt war ja abzusehen. Ist ja immer so. Ein approach ala Vulkan Extension hätte unendlich viel mehr sinn ergeben. Yikes.

Ja, das war ein Zitat von einem uns allen bekannten Programmierer. Der stand sogar im Gespräch mit AMD, aber die wollten mal wieder nicht hören.

Ein Neuanfang ist ja manchmal ganz gut, aber ADLX hinterlässt jetzt nicht gerade einen besseren Eindruck als die alte ADL. Uns wenigen Entwicklern hätte auch ein Bugfixing gerreicht, aber nun ja. Mal sehen was nun aus dieser Baustelle noch wird.

I found a way to reproduce this message right after boot (at least on my PC)
For the sake of science, for both the CPU and GPU their default settings were applied, the driver version is Adrenalin 24.4.1

The point is: GPU soft-reset turns off SAM on the next PC boot.

Steps:

1. Check the SAM state via Adrenalin or MCT



2. Run restart64.exe (or switch off and on SAM from console) to soft-reset the GPU

3. Reboot, see the message box appeared and check the SAM state (another soft-reset enabled SAM again)




I wonder if anyone can reproduce it?

EDIT:
1. Can verify that after roll-back to the 23.11.1 driver, everything is back to normal. The message appears only once, after the driver is installed.
2. Updated to 24.4.1 and the bug has returned.
3. Filed an issue report

By the way, it might make sense to bundle the latest MCT app with the ADLX 1.2 dll to make it fully functional with older drivers like 23.11

For the old drivers we have an older version of MCT with ADL2 online, you can still find it on the download page.

I will not bundle MCT with software from AMD. Don't want to think about the legal implications.

ADL2 is still missing some functions which was added to the ADLX API, like SAM
