Hi,
I am failing to update Gigabyte 5700 XT. The same procedure updates the BIOS on MSI cards with no problem. I follow the instructions on Igors Lab.

The sign of having trouble with the card bios flash shows in GPU-Z. After flash using amdvbflash the values of GPU and memory frequencies is empty. With stock bios there are Mhz frequencies.

Is there any known problems with flashing Gigabyte cards?
Any suggestions on what other forums I may ask for assistance?
Is it possible that the OEM bios is signed, and any modified bios will be rejected?
If the bios is signed, any tools to resign, or would I need to buy a card from a different vendor?

Thanks,

Alley Cat

Hello and welcome,

Regarding your Gigabyte 5700 XT GAMING please use the setting below,

Core clock, VDD : Memory clock, VDDCI, MVDD
1360 MHz, 760 : 880 MHz, 820 mV, 1350 mV,

For your MSI Mech 5700 card with high memory temperature, please put thermal pads at the back of the memory chips between the pcb and the backplate,

Regarding the MSI Gaming 5600 XT,
Have you applied Apple Inc. optimized memory timings straps yet?
About the thermal pads in the back of the memory chips, when i open the backplate already have it in that way.

About Gigabyte i have just change to that values

About "Apple Inc. optimized memory timings" no, i will search for that configs right now.

Hi, this thread is a fantastic resource as I have read through it all. I've done successfull modifications to my original BIOS, and also tried @Mini_Me version from december. They both work well, however I am having overheating issues on the memory.

I attach two images.
1. lowest OC settings according to the original guide = 88+ degrees @100% fan (and keeps increasing )
2. lowest OC-settings I've seen suggested in the thread = 84-86 degrees @73-78% fan (stable)

Any advise to lower the temprature? If changing the memory thermal pads is the only option - do you happen to know if it's thickness? 1-2mm?
Thanks in advance! Anhang anzeigen 10329 Anhang anzeigen 10330
Is your GPUs Gigabyte 5700 Gaming OC 8GB rev 2.0?
In that case i have a similar problem and comparing the original vs unlocked vbios i saw a diference in the Fan Maximun.
Original BIOS 4200 RPM vs Unlocked 2100 RPM. I change it to 4200 and now temps are lower and RPM are at 40% less than before.

The link for Apple Inc. optimized memory timings straps is already in the guide that I provided before.

Black screen with that vbios. I restore the original one and works again.

This is the original bios

Hello! You made a greate job thank you ever so much for your work!

Could you help me please? I have two problem cards this is:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Gigabyte 5700 xt GAMING OC REV 2.0
Memory Micron

I tried to modify bios but this card bricked. So on russians forum I found out solution it was to download BIOS from REV 1.0 and modify it.

After that my power consumption grows up from 100-110 W to 130-140 W. And the memory temperature stand to high - 94-98 with 50% fan and 80 with 65%. Time to time memory is throttled and my farm crashed. I am using timings 800C00001D0C000000000000FA0900004003000018321F184A001E000606000214000000050A0A001800000031120700000001010100010100201800282300000A0A0000F0000000F00000008A208A02550000000A00040A170300011F2A0C00DC00000042F5130FDC00000000000000 and modified tRef 9000, in Hive Os my settings is CORE 1390, MEM 920, VDD/VDDCI/MVDD 750/750/740.
Right now it is 57.5 Mh/s - 128 W in miner
I guess that the problem is in BIOS, but can't solve it.. In conclusion with this settings my farm works 15-24 hours and then it's crashing, this card always is the point
I want to solve problems with MEM temp and decrease power consumption, maybe increase hash rate a bit

*BIOS is in attached files just remove .txt

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Sapphire AMD 5700 XT this one was made in 2018 year and it is not nitro+ or pulse.
Memory Sumsung

The problems starts than I tried to download original bios to this card, it bricked with 43 error.
After that I successfully download this bios https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/212120/amd-rx5700xt-8192-190616 instead of original https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/212169/sapphire-rx5700xt-8192-190616 this one bricked card,
copy straps from 1500 to others, move minimum SoC to 725. And in Hive os I perform this settings CORE 1600, MEM 895, VDD/VDDCI/MVDD 828/725/725, now it works fine 56 Mh/s - 100 W in miner, but the temperature is 50 on core and 70 on mem with 65% fan, I'm afraid there might be problems in the summer, could you advise something? (I can't turn on the fans on full due to the loud noise)
*I tried to modify MEM higher and CORE lower and always crashed.

At all I want to increase hash rate and decrease CORE temp, not to the detriment of stability

By the way, your card are doing well at the meantime and no further arrangement is required.
