Hi,
I am failing to update Gigabyte 5700 XT. The same procedure updates the BIOS on MSI cards with no problem. I follow the instructions on Igors Lab.

The sign of having trouble with the card bios flash shows in GPU-Z. After flash using amdvbflash the values of GPU and memory frequencies is empty. With stock bios there are Mhz frequencies.

Is there any known problems with flashing Gigabyte cards?
Any suggestions on what other forums I may ask for assistance?
Is it possible that the OEM bios is signed, and any modified bios will be rejected?
If the bios is signed, any tools to resign, or would I need to buy a card from a different vendor?

Thanks,

Alley Cat

I must politely disagree on that one
This is absolutely rock solid

Thank you for the feedback. I am very happy that you found a working balance for your MSI cards. The 5700 XT underclock range of stability, compared for example to the AMD Reference card, is very narrow. I want to achieve a stable system, and low power consumption, which I find to be difficult.
I will try your settings on my MSI 5700 XT WITH 770mv core.

Regards,

AlleyCat

I was looking at the whole post but I still have not clear the ideal setting for the gigabyte rx5700, who already has a good consumption ratio working and mh that shares the parameters, mod bios and hiveos thanks

For the MSI I believe the best is to keep the original vbios without modifying the power play and only modifying the vram setting by following the Test 1 from before after that applying the tREF as below,

- K4Z80325BC
1000 MHz (Copy) - - - > (Paste) 1250 MHz
1250 MHz - - - > (1500-1550) MHz
(1500-1550) MHz - - - > 1800 MHz
1800 MHz - - - > 2000 MHz
2000 MHz - - - > 2250 MHz

- MT61K256M32
1000 MHz - - - > 1250 MHz
1250 MHz - - - > (1500-1550) MHz
(1500-1550) MHz - - - > (1750 - 1800 - 1875) MHz
(1750 - 1800) MHz - - - > 2000 MHz

Memory Clock - tREF
1000 MHz - 3900 (Samsung & Micron)
1250 MHz - 4875 (Samsung & Micron)
1550 MHz - 6045 (Samsung & Micron)
1750 MHz - 6825 (Micron only)
1800 MHz - 7020 (Samsung & Micron)
1875 MHz - 7315 (Micron only)
2000 MHz - 7800 (Samsung & Micron)
2250 MHz - 8775 (Samsung only)
aorus 5700 xt and gigabyte 5700 (non xt) flashed as values u add average hash 59 aorus - 58.8 gigabyte but sometime hash drop as pic what's wrong ?

You will find my settings below. Nevertheless, I am sure it could be improved, and I am also interested in a community opinion.

If I could achieve 57.58.59 mh, what I cannot is reduce consumption, 110w down is impossible I do not exceed 51-52 mh with 103-104 whats

A little update from my previous post on page 25, post #500. Sapphire Micron Pulse, core voltage 740, core speed 1350. Hash at 56.9.

I reduced both memory voltages and left the same clock. At VDDCI 770, MVDD 1300 and speed 910 mhz it worked for a bit then crashed.
Now it is at 775,1305 and 910 respectively and going strong for an hour. Power consumption dropped 4 W per card in the software and double that at the wall!

Memory temps are still 90ish but the fans are a little bit slower, so there was gain if you compare the screenshot in post #500 and this screenshot.

try auto fan option

It's a nice option, I've been using it to get to 90 deg C, will now go for a bit lower and see if the fans go crazy.

I've got a question regarding the Gigabyte 5700xt Gaming OC Rev2.0. Does anyone know the difference between rev1.0 and rev2.0? I'm running 6 x rev 1.0 and 2 x rev 2.0. With the same OC settings and same apple straps, the rev2.0 cards run at about 20W higher. Note that this was the same with stock settings as well. Also, I'm having a hard time keeping my mem temps low. My core temps are fine, the rig is well ventilated and in an open air mining frame with additional CPU fans on each card. What would be a good mem temp to shoot for and what can I do to achieve that? I'm using auto-fan in HIveOS.

One question, is it possible to use More Power Tool on a PC where an RX5700 is not installed?
(for example on a laptop?)

I found that sometimes the drop box with the card still lists cards even if a card is not installed. I’m not sure if this is a normal behaviour, but I was able to edit the Power Table without a card.

I put fans attacked to the front of my rig, connected directly to the PSU. The fans work at full speed and help to run the cards cooler.
make sure there is a good air flow away from your rig. Perhaps away from a wall, just enough to increase air flow.

That would be awesome, as the memory temps really are pretty high and that's with only 20 minutes of running. Default memory temperature in one card rig (16 x pcie) was also high, 90 at the best card, 98 at most cards at the same settings.

CPU is i3-7100 currently. RAM - Kingston 8 gb. SSD- in hive, not installed (flash drive), in Windows-Kingston 128 gb ssd.

Memory controller voltage and memory voltage are untouched, they are default. I don't know where to see the reading of memory voltages in hiveos. Card is Micron Sapphire Pulse XT.

Fan speeds are set with target memory temp of 90 in HiveOs, and they range from 50% to 80%. Cards at the edge of the rig are 50%, cards in the middle are 80%. Attached are screenshots and the photo of the rig.

Core voltage is 740, with core speed at 1350.
Please check the link below regarding how to set overclocking setting in HiveOS,

[Updated]
This is the final power table for any RX 5700 card in the kindly attached link below,

I am most interested in your findings.

I received an AMD 5700 XT Reference card.
I did the Power Table and APple Straps, and out of the gate the runs 56.9MH/s at 99W. WOW. What a difference in the card's engineering. I will search for deals on reference cards, and other "better-engineered cards like the Gigabyte Aorus, or Sapphire Nitro+.

The settings with the AMD Reference are: Core 1400/800mv, mem 910MHz, 800 VDD/800 VDDCI/1330 MVDD.
Can you suggest configuration options for the reference card?

Best regards,
AlleyCat

hi

amd 5700xt reference card samsug?
my 5700xt reference All Samsung

Some new thing i found out:
So my sapphire pulse rx 5700 xt bios version was
017.001.000.068.000000
the only 5700 i found was not having same number so i manually edited this one in hxd
Anhang anzeigen 6861

after a successfull forced flash:
53MH 92w
will try to get the XT back using red bios editor

gpu1 The same card as you
it good work

hi gay

my Sapphire Micron Pulse work in
1400/750/750/1350/950
on hiveos it work 88 W
57.67m
Very stable work
Give you a reference

Mini_Me, you seem to be very skilled at this stuff. Do you have any knowledge could it be possible to make GPU headless somehow? BIOS modification?

I have Asus B250 mining expert which has 19 PCI-E slots. However, nobody gets over 15 working with normal GPU's. This is in HiveOS, in windows you can get 19 GPU's to work using Crimson ReLive Edition 17.10.2 drivers. The only way is to use 15 "normal" GPU's and rest have to be headless mining cards like P104. Some say that its the number of PCI lanes that restricts the number of cards (which is 16 with intel CPU's). However, I dont believe its true since you can use headless cards.

Do you have any tips for this? I would love to have 19 RX 5700 working with my rig....

Hi Cathali,

Perhaps it is possible in the future.

Greetings and good day AlleyCat,

I hope you are always fine and safe,

I found something new when I was studying the vbios that may give new and better results for cards with both Micron and Samsung memory type,

I am going to test it and I will update you after we finish whenever it is possible,

Best Regards.
