Frage Default voltage - Reset RX580

Hi!

I am confused because after crash or option -resetoc in Phoenixminer my RX580 GPUs are reset to 890mv although Bios is flashed with 830mv.

It's pretty annoying to manually change it back to 830mv.

Question: Where are these reset settings coming from?

That miner is closed-source from what I see, that could be anything:

• System driver (what OS?)
• Phoenixminer sets the voltage on its own

You should really ask the authors of the program in that case.

To be honest, I don't think that Phoenix Miner is changing the settings without a clear setting from the user.

How should this tool know what are the reset values for each card? That does not make sense.

I am more focused on Wattman or Radeon drivers itself.
But I absolutely don't know how to prevent the reset to values other than what is given by BIOS.

One more hint: I can only see this behavior for RX580 GPUs, 5700XT e.g. don't act that magic, they are always reset to BIOS values.

My whole point was: ask the developers to know what their software is doing. Someone around your mining tool should know(?)

There're some values that are stored deep in the registry (see MorePowerTool from here), maybe that's where it's coming from.
