The power consumption was measured for each of the cards under real conditions. For this purpose, both the storage oscillographs with the maximum resolution and intelligent low-pass filter (peak power) were used, as well as the shunt measuring section with the MCU-based monitoring for each voltage rail (see also Test System). For the later power supply measurements there are, however, other factors, so that this is listed in a separate evaluation (power supply measurement).
The values actually determined here deviate in part from the manufacturer’s specifications for TBP, which is also due to the technical limitations. In general, one can assume that the Nvidia cards used are much closer to the specified upper limit than most AMD cards, thanks to the monitoring on all 12 Volt rails and the power limits stored in the BIOS due to the very restrictive monitoring.. .
