Look and feel
The outstanding feature of the TRYX Panorama is undoubtedly the curved 6.5-inch 3D AMOLED display, which wraps around the cooler pump unit in an L-shape. This display makes it possible to view content both through the side window and through the front of a glass-fronted housing. The workmanship of the entire system has a high-quality appearance and the black ARGB fans blend seamlessly into the elegant overall picture.
Two cables lead from the cooler-pump unit: firstly, a classic 4-pin PWM cable for controlling the pump speed, and secondly, a USB 2.0 connection, which is responsible for connecting and controlling the integrated display. Inside, an Asetek pump, now in its eighth generation, is at work, an old acquaintance that has already established itself as a reliable and efficient choice in many AiO solutions. It impresses with a wide control range, a balanced noise level and a stable flow rate, a good basis for quiet and efficient operation.
On top of the pump housing is a small radial fan for VRM or VRAM cooling – well meant, but acoustically with limitations. Up to around 2000 RPM, the thing is barely audible and does its job in the background. Anything above that, however, is more in the direction of “turbine feeling in miniature format”. The noise level rises disproportionately quickly and the sound becomes shrill and unpleasant. A clear minus point for silent fans.
The three 120 mm fans come pre-assembled and pre-wired out of the box. Plug & play, at least at first glance. TRYX dispenses with the classic industry-standard PWM and A-RGB connectors and instead relies on a proprietary connector system. Whether this is innovative or unnecessarily exotic remains to be seen. Advantage: The fans can be conveniently connected via daisy-chaining, which makes cable management easier. A supplied cable whip is then connected to the last fan, which ends in PWM plugs, A-RGB plugs and a looped-through A-RGB socket. Standard connection to the outside, internal TRYX logic to the inside. The ARGB lighting is limited to the rotor blades. Discreet, but very effective.
The copper coldplate measures 56 x 56 mm on the outside and is screwed bombproof to the pump unit with a total of eight Torx screws. A layer of thermal paste has already been applied at the factory – cleanly and evenly, but as always, if you’re serious, you’ll have to do it again yourself.
The radiator of the black version comes with a surprisingly clean finish – not a cheap token coat of paint, but neatly applied, without running noses or unwanted shine. In terms of materials, TRYX (like most other manufacturers) remains conservative with aluminum. Not premium, but practical. With a height of 30 mm, the heat exchanger is slightly above the industry standard. This is pleasing, because more mass also means more surface area and therefore potentially more thermal reserve. Provided the rest of the cold chain plays along.
The 3D AMOLED display is not only a visual highlight, but also offers functional added value. The KANALI software can be used to display individual content such as system information, animated wallpapers or your own videos. The software is intuitive to use and enables comprehensive customization of display content, fan speeds and ARGB lighting.
