Also this mouse consists – how should it be different – completely of ABS plastic to come on the low weight of 73g including radio technology and battery. Without a size reference, it’s virtually impossible to tell the Prime and Prime Mini apart from the top, but on the bottom we start to see the differences.

The gliding feet are made of pure PTFE and are therefore completely white. Furthermore, a small slider for switching the mouse on and off has been added. By the way, the product name could not have been made any longer, otherwise it would no longer fit.

There’s not much exciting to see in the side view, here the Prime Mini resembles the new version again. The two side buttons have fortunately not been shrunk, so they seem proportionally much bigger.

Again, this mouse is designed for right-handers and features an ergonomic “hill”. It is also noticeable that the hole for the USB port is not as far inside this time.

According to Steelseries, the Prime Mouse should be suitable for all common main grip types, i.e. palm, finger and claw grip.

For me personally, the mouse was very close to the limit of what I can comfortably use. I have pretty average hands in my opinion, but in order to better classify the following statements for you, here are the measurements to judge for yourself:

During the first hands-on, I immediately noticed that the 12% less volume compared to the normal Prime mouse does make more of a difference than I expected. It doesn’t feel tiny, but it does feel a little small. But that is exactly the decisive aspect of this mouse, it is supposed to be mini. The target group should therefore be a mixture of young players and people with small hands. I have the mouse once test a 12-year-old pressed in the hand, he found the fit super.

The workmanship is average to good, the seams between the individual parts of the mouse are clearly visible, but not noticeable. Thanks to the slightly rough surface, I always had a good grip on the mouse and the buttons, although this could of course be due to the small size and the associated “grasping”.
