Samsung plays along and our grinder the song of death
Samsung’s legal department will probably have realized that German data protection acts like such a small Gallic village and that it is simply best to let the customer sweat at least a bit more before playing along. The proposed video was accommodated, although it would not have been possible to solve the problem much differently. Koreans are certainly reluctant to put on the shoe with the endangered sensitive data.
And how do you get the delinquent killed in a manner befitting his status? Of course, I have included the execution video in the article, and yes, such a package is quite resistant. But in the end it was 2:0 for the sander, but just see for yourself how the individual layers present themselves during sanding:
For those who prefer not to watch videos, even though the whole thing is really fun and interesting, I have the thin proof of the grinding action at the end. There are certainly no more data on it. And now the ball is back in Samsung’s court to send the customer a new SSD, because the broken modules cannot be atomized any more than that. I’ll stay tuned, of course, because I already want to know how long this will take to hopefully end well. From the customer’s point of view, of course, who is still waiting for the new SSD.
Permanent runners from our own stock
I also had to complain about a total failure yesterday, but with me it an Intel SSD. And before the conspiracy theorists start cheering, it simply had to break, because the write rates were simply over the top. This is really extreme and I would never have thought that it would even last that long. Over 6 years in use and simply dead. This once again shows how important a good NAS is when it comes to sensitive and important data.
How I destroyed them now? Not as photogenic as Samsung’s part, but I simply burnt it. Purgatory and such…
