SoundPeats T3 True Wireless Ear-Buds with ANC – China junk or serious competition?

Disclaimer: The following article is machine translated from the original German, and has not been edited or checked for errors. Thank you for understanding!

It is well known that even premium manufacturers like Audi have a large part of their components manufactured in China and that Apple’s AirPods are also emblazoned with the “Made in China” emblem somewhere. But what happens when the Chinese not only manufacture, but do the engineering themselves? Spoiler: There is sometimes a real surprise! Admittedly, this introduction is a little bit lurid and by no means do I want to start any discussion of principles.

In fact, I have purchased quite a few Chinese products over the last few years and everything from the very last “China junk” to the unexpectedly high quality product has been represented. Certainly, one or the other product is sometimes copied or even copied quite brazenly, but about such facts one can let oneself out in an editorial. In this article, I would like to objectively test the earbuds in question and approach the test completely unbiased.

I had never heard of the SoundPeats brand myself and had to do some research to find out exactly what kind of company I was dealing with. Arguably, it’s a brand founded in 2010 by a major Chinese manufacturer whose mission is to make high-quality Bluetooth headphones at a reasonable price. Says Marketing. The initial successes allowed the brand to quickly expand to America and Europe, and a little later even established itself as a bestseller in Japan.

With the help of the Kickstarter platform, they were able to fund the development of some specific solutions and gradually incorporate them into their upcoming products. In the meantime, they have built up a portfolio of over 20 products, and if you look at the reviews (not just the supposedly purchased ones) on Amazon, where the products are sold, the headphones don’t seem to go down too badly with the masses.

SoundPeats T3 – Next Level ANC Experience

This article will deal specifically with the T3 model with active noise cancelling. In the course of the next week, another model will follow, which follows a slightly different approach (semi-in-ear). Today, however, there are first of all the technical data and features before the unboxing.

Features

The T3 Earbuds are equipped with some technical finesse. Here I just reach into the provider’s documents, even if I don’t like to take offence at homepage contents. But they are nice and colorful and loosen up the text a bit.

Active Noise Cancelling – Designed to filter out or reduce ambient noise by up to 24dB thanks to the built-in “feedforward” microphones.

BES2500IZ – The latest Bluetooth 5.2 chip is said to provide lag-free and clear transmission while consuming significantly less power than older versions.

Smart Power Indicator – The included case, which also acts as a charging station, has a battery level indicator and the capacity of the battery is said to be enough to fully charge the Earbuds twice. This results in a total playing time of about 19 hours.

Sound+ AI – The integrated microphone for telephony/voice chat is equipped with Sound+ technology. This is supposed to record the voice very precisely and suppress ambient noise reliably even in noisy environments.

Enclosed is the manual, which is also enclosed with the device in printed (!) form. It’s very rare to have that these days.
