Optics and haptics
Unlike its brothers designed for right-handers, the S version is completely symmetrical. For the first time, a Honeycomb case is also used, which should ensure a secure grip in addition to a small weight saving. On the underside there is more honeycomb structure, the four narrow gliding feet and of course the sensor.
I could have actually mirrored the side view image, because the mouse is equipped the same on the left and right. Sharkoon provides two freely assignable thumb keys, which is not often seen.
It’s not that noticeable in the pictures, but the Light² S is cut pretty flat. A hump in the middle fits most grip types with a little getting used to, but felt a little weird especially at the beginning.
As far as the general workmanship is concerned, there is – actually – nothing negative to report. The plastic does not feel cheap, it creaks and rattles nothing … so why actually?
I had the problem with my copy that depending on the position of the mouse wheel, the middle mouse button could be pressed with varying difficulty, sometimes barely. And also with a second mouse the problem existed, although clearly weakened. Apart from that, the scroll wheel is very quiet and smooth to turn, the single steps are barely noticeable.
But since I could not find any mention of this error in various customer reviews, I probably got Monday models. Sharkoon is informed and takes care of the matter, maybe only a few mice or a certain batch are affected. Better quality control would have been desirable here, however, as a normal customer one could be rightly annoyed here.
