Noctua has developed a quiet, powerful power supply in collaboration with Seasonic: the Seasonic Prime Noctua TX-1600. This model is also listed in his article on the best ATX v3.x and PCIe 5.x power supplies. You can find out more about the performance, noise and build quality of this PSU in the full review. It will be interesting to see how this power supply compares to other popular products in this category. Reason enough for me to once again let my friend Aris from Hardwarebusters have his say (and picture) on this on our site, as he has not only intensively tested this power supply, which costs around 160 euros, but has also officially certified it through his company Cybenetics. As this will certainly be of interest to you, I am happy to offer him the platform to share his findings with you on a case-by-case basis. And don’t forget, his website and YouTube channel also offer real gems in terms of really well-founded reviews! The power supply is also featured in his article on the best ATX v3.x & PCIe 5.x power supplies.
Noctua is known for its cooling solutions, its focus on high performance and quality and the associated high prices. Prices here start at 500 euros, which is more than just sporty compared to most competitors. According to the brand new Cybenetics database for power supply performance, the Prime TX-1600 is currently one of the most powerful power supplies on the market. But what if an even higher quality fan was installed in this power supply unit?
Noctua has obviously thought about this and developed the Seasonic Prime Noctua TX-1600 together with Seasonic. The higher the capacity of a power supply, the more difficult it is to keep the average noise level low. High efficiency is the only ally here. As the TX-1600 is Titanium certified, its thermal loads are lower than those of a Platinum or Gold certified power supply with a similar capacity. According to Noctua, this power supply is around 8-10 dB(A) quieter than the standard version in the 17-100% fan speed range. I will examine whether this is actually the case in the review.
