Sapphire Radeon RX 6800 XT Nitro+ in the test – It also goes quietly, quickly and quite thirsty

Summary and conclusion

Apart from the performance evaluation that has already taken place, a very positive impression remains of the technical implementation and the chosen cooling solution. A very well equipped and designed circuit board is a positive aspect of the evaluation. The power consumption peaks are generally a much smaller problem with the Radeons and should not pose insurmountable problems even for simple power supplies. In addition, there is the sympathetic LC filter in the input section, which cannot be praised enough. However, this is a requirement of AMD and Sapphire has adopted this.

The cooling performance and the associated noise level is exceptionally good, and the new fans are a touch better than those on the RX 5700 XT Nitro+. The fact that one has topped oneself here is definitely worth an extra mention. That’s how fair you have to stay. The fact that the coils become somewhat audible under load is purely a question of physics and the effort required to find other solutions within a reasonable framework. This will be quite difficult and, above all, really expensive. What was installed here is already from the top shelf.

The EIA of EUR 769 is appropriate, especially in view of the overall package. But the availability of Sapphire shouldn’t be the reason, TSMC has simply overtaken itself here. Especially since one hears that various things that are otherwise needed for chip production are also in short supply. A causal chain with lots of unknowns. I can only wish everyone good F5 skills when the first batch arrives here in Germany next week. Many cards will probably not be at first, but at least some will be. So it is best to practice a little bit before, then you will also be able to use the shopping cart.
