Temperature comparisons
Now that we have illuminated the optical and accusistic stuff, let’s move on to the temperature data. As mentioned at the beginning, the tests were performed identically and the maximum value was noted (as delta °K to the input temperature). Info: This data was already published by me (under the name elmobank) at pcgh in the Laberthreat. The flow rate in the test was 95 L/h.

Summary and conclusion
Alphacool’s cooling block has clearly come out ahead here and the company has delivered a job where you get an extremely good cooler for your money (around €135), which may contain some visual flaws, but can shine with performance and a thermally connected backplate. Here the aquacomputer cooling block is unfortunately clearly further behind, the exception is the VRAM, this is cooled clearly better and more effectively, since one does without only heat conducting pads and can fall back due to the very exact dimensions on heat conducting paste. This is noticeable in lower temperatures – whether this justifies a purchase of the cooler at the price everyone must decide for themselves.
All in all, the aquacomputer cooler with the corresponding backplate is at least 197,80 € (nickel-plated variant, copper variant is 15 € cheaper), in my variant even 252,70 €. The cooling block of aquacomputer reduces the flow less strongly and will be suitable here for High Flow systems, possibly can be rauskitzeln here by a clearly higher flow still one or other °K. Otherwise, the cooler can definitely score with its appearance, processing quality and accuracy, here aquacomputer has once again done a very clean job. With the new revision of the manual, with the additional pads, the temperature of the VRam drops again by about 2°K compared to the previous revision (test done with the additional pads).
If you own the reference design of the RX6800 (XT) or Radeon RX 6900XT and change to this cooler, you won’t be disappointed in any case, but if you change from a very performant water cooler to the one from aquacomputer, as in my case, you have to make some sacrifices in performance, the same goes for the possible noise level (I hope the audio file gives you an approximate impression).
The results in the TimeSpy tend to be about 100 – 200 points lower due to the higher temperature, but this can also be dropped under measurement tolerance or accuracy, since we are not even at 1% difference here. Whether the optics is worth this extra charge for a change of the water cooling block, that everyone must decide for themselves.
