Over the last few days, rumors have been circulating about the prices of the upcoming AMD Ryzen 9000 desktop CPUs with “Zen 5” architecture. A leak on the Anandtech forum has revealed possible prices for the four CPUs in the series and indicates an aggressive pricing model that could compete with Intel’s Raptor Lake CPUs.
The prices in detail:
Ryzen 9 9950X: EURO 459.08
Ryzen 9 9900X: EURO 367.08
Ryzen 7 9700X: EURO 275.78
Ryzen 5 9600X: EURO 211.48
It is important to note that these prices have not yet been officially confirmed by AMD. However, if they turn out to be true, they could have a significant impact on the CPU market. Because if you compare the alleged prices with the RRP of the previous generation and the current prices of the competition from Intel, a clear picture emerges: AMD offers a potentially outstanding price-performance ratio! The Ryzen 9 9950X could significantly undercut Intel’s flagship Core i9-14900K and i9-14900KS, both of which cost over $500 US and also struggle with high energy consumption and instability issues.

The Ryzen 9 9900X and Ryzen 7 9700X could also put Intel’s Core i7-14700K series under pressure. The Ryzen 7 9700X is even able to outperform the current best gaming chip, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, with a significantly lower power consumption of just 65 watts. Even the Ryzen 5 9600X with its price of approx. EURO206.10 seems to be significantly more attractive than the originally expected price of approx. EURO267.
If the price information proves to be true, AMD could win many new buyers for its AM5 platform with the Ryzen 9000 series. Intel’s problems with the desktop range could also give AMD a large share of the market: Prices are not yet officially confirmed and could change. The leak suggests availability from July 31st, but this could vary depending on region and retailer.
Shortages: The leak also mentions limited stocks of the Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 5 9600X.
The alleged prices of the AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” desktop CPUs suggest a strong price-performance ratio and potential dominance in the market. If the rumors turn out to be true, this could become a major challenge for Intel.
