PowerColor is reportedly preparing a new GPU series called “Reaper” to coincide with the launch of the AMD Radeon RX 8000 “RDNA 4” graphics cards. The Reaper series will thus expand the existing product range, which currently comprises six series.
New member of the PowerColor family
PowerColor, one of AMD’s main partners, is planning to launch a new GPU line. This has not yet been officially confirmed, but according to Videocardz, the “Reaper” series will be added to the existing product range.
PowerColor currently offers the following GPU series:
- Liquid Devil
- Red Devil
- Hellhound
- Red Dragon
- Fighter
- PowerColor (reference design)
The series cover a broad spectrum from affordable to high-performance models equipped with optimized cooling. The introduction of the Reaper series indicates that PowerColor wants to further differentiate its offering.
Integration into the RX 8000 series
It is expected that the “Reaper” series will be launched together with the RX 8000 GPUs. It is currently unclear whether existing RX 7000 models will also be offered under this new brand. So far, it is assumed that the Reaper series will be introduced exclusively for the RDNA 4 GPUs, which are to be based on the new Navi 44 and Navi 48 chips. Compared to previous generations based on RDNA 2 and RDNA 3, the new RX 8000 cards could offer higher performance potential and advanced features. The Reaper series is expected to be in the upper price segment, similar to the existing Liquid Devil and Red Devil series, which are known for their optimized cooling solutions.
Market launch at CES 2025
The AMD Radeon RX 8000 series is expected to be launched at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025. It is conceivable that PowerColor will officially present the “Reaper” series at the same time. However, no technical details about the new series are yet known, including what special features or cooling solutions it will offer. With the introduction of the Reaper series, PowerColor could further strengthen its position in the GPU market. The series is expected to be another premium offering and complement the RX 8000 GPUs. More information is expected to follow at CES 2025, when AMD and its partners will present the new RDNA 4 products in detail.
